Less than 24 hours until Election Day, the major candidates
in Georgia's key elections are making their final pushes.
Tonight at 5, the razor-thin margins
that will decide our state's next leaders.
In the past hour, we've gotten our hands
on a new poll in the Georgia governor's race,
and it shows a dead heat for governor.
The Insider Advantage poll
of 2,500 likely Georgia voters shows Democrat Keisha Lance
Bottoms three hundredths of a point ahead of Republican Rick Jackson.
The poll was conducted Friday through today
and shows Bottoms with 49.03 percent of the vote.
Compared to Jackson's, 49%.
2% of the 2,500 likely voters polled remain undecided.
This is the first Insider Advantage poll
this fall that shows Bottoms with a lead.
The poll has a margin of error of 1.96%.
We also have the final Insider Advantage poll
in the U.S. Senate race in Georgia.
The poll shows Democrat incumbent Senator John Ossoff maintaining
a lead over his Republican challenger, Congressman Mike Collins.
The poll conducted Friday shows Ossoff with 53% of the vote.
That compares to Collins with 46%.
1% of the 2,500 likely voters polled remain undecided.
Again, that poll has a margin of error of 1.96%.
Ossoff has led in every Insider Advantage poll this fall,
but this is the closest the race has ever been.
All of the polls will come to an end tomorrow
as voters head to the polls.
Meantime, Georgia Secretary of State
is assuring voters that election officials
are prepared for tomorrow's election.
Let's get out to Fox 5's Deidre Dukes,
who is live at the state capitol
with the latest on the governor's race. Deidre.
Yeah, we saw the candidates crossing the state making
a final push for votes today. In fact,
still out there campaigning on the campaign trail at this hour.
With the polls showing
this race is so close, they are working hard
to drive their supporters to the polls.
My first day is to send the message that everybody,
I'm going to represent everybody, no matter what.
With just hours to go before Election Day, Georgia's candidates
for governor are making their final push for votes.
Republican Rick Jackson campaigning in Perry,
with several more steps planned across the state.
That's what I'm going to care who you vote for.
God love you. I love you.
Election Day!
Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms in Athens
this afternoon urging voters to make their voices heard.
We need their voices, we need to hear their concerns,
and we need them to show up.
We're not going to be able to win without them.
After months of campaigning, the race remains neck and neck.
Our elections are free, fair.
and fast. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger
says election officials are prepared for tomorrow.
More than 2.8 million Georgians have already cast their ballots.
The counties are in good
shape and we're monitoring them,
make sure everything's good to go, working with our
investigators, making sure they're going
to be fully deployed throughout the entire state,
making sure the counties are covered,
and we understand that there'll be independent observers
Not just the Republican and Democratic Party observers,
but there'll be the Carter Center,
and we understand the DOJ will have their observers,
and there'll be other organizations
and individuals that will be out there observing
that. We have a process for that.
Now, if you are voting tomorrow,
Secretary Raffensperger encourages you to verify online
your polling location before heading out.
At the state capitol, Deidre Dukes, Fox 5 News.
Yeah, it'll be so interesting to see how everything turns out
just a little over 24 hours from now as we start to get numbers in.
Deidre, thanks.
