Developing this morning,
a fiery jet crash in Florida is now under investigation.
This is a really sad story here.
Fox News' Marianne Rafferty has the latest from Palm Beach County.
Sadness in South Florida after a small business jet plummeted
to the ground in a Palm Beach County neighborhood Sunday afternoon,
killing all nine people on board.
The craft was heading to the Bahamas after flying out
of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas.
While the exact cause of the crash is under investigation,
pilots report turbulence, icing, and precipitation
minutes before the jet went down,
according to air traffic control recordings.
For managing the ice, set it as moderate turbulence.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said there were no immediate reports
of anyone on the ground who was killed or hurt during the crash.
This is the Federal Aviation Administration
and the National Transportation Safety Board are now on the case.
Obviously.
There's going to be an investigation, but to see the way it descended,
I think you can make the inference that something happened in the air.
We do not know how long the federal government will have
to run their own investigation on the plane crash.
Once we get all that information in place,
we will release it to the public.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy posting about
the incident on social media Sunday,
saying in part, quote,
please join me in praying for the families and loved ones we lost.
Meantime, Palm Beach County officials have said nearly 600 people
in a nearby mobile home community are expected to be relocated
so the investigation can take its course.
