Innovative hubs and it's been an ideal location for us
to not just showcase our country but to focus on critical economic
policy issues that are facing the world today and to focus
on the core purpose for why this forum was created in the first place.
So this week in Atlanta.
That was Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
He's in Atlanta hosting foreign dignitaries for the G20 Summit.
But that's only one of the big events taking place
in Atlanta this weekend.
Thousands of fans made their way to Midtown
for the Georgia vs. Florida game.
All that added traffic makes getting around a real headache.
Fox 5's Tara Jabbour spoke with people in Midtown about the traffic,
and she is there right now.
Parts of Midtown are shut down because of the G20 summit.
Now, I spoke to neighbors.
Some tell me it's a headache with this traffic,
while others tell me it's an honor that Atlanta
is hosting such an important meeting.
If you live or work in Midtown,
you know that traffic can be a nightmare.
But that traffic is a little heavier than usual this weekend
because of road closures due to the G20 summit.
It's awesome. It's exciting to have
an international event in the neighborhood.
G20 is an incredibly important body,
and it is not only an honor that it's being held in Atlanta,
it's prescient with FIFA and other things.
Parts of Juniper Street are shut down from 13th to 11th
and several others in the area.
But it's not just the G20 summit
that's causing extra traffic this weekend.
Atlanta is also hosting the Georgia versus Florida game
and its Halloween weekend.
I think it's always something.
I mean, let's do a Shaky Knees Festival
or the Pride Festival or the Midtown Arts Festival.
I mean, there's always something, so you get used to it.
You have to be adaptable.
And I find my path.
It may not be the original path, but I find a path between the traffic.
The people I spoke to who live in Midtown say they have plans
of just walking around the city this weekend to avoid the traffic.
You'll notice a lot larger of a law enforcement presence in Midtown,
from Atlanta police to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Despite the traffic, the people I spoke to say they
are happy to live in a busy city full of events.
Well, I guess I'm sort of used to it.
Um, being that I live here, it's heavy.
I mean, I live here because I don't like to drive,
you know, so for me, it's fine.
I walk everywhere anyway.
And the roads will open back up after noon on Sunday.
