Chiefs Trade Offer LEAKED...
Oct 30, 2026
Here's some huge news as a Chiefs trade offer has been leaked.
While it's been no secret over the past 24 hours,
the Chiefs are heavily involved in Josh Downs.
A new report has just dropped, not only leaking the Chiefs offer,
but some very interesting information
surrounding the competition they have.
We're going to break down these new reports,
discuss what it means going forward as folks,
a bidding war is brewing with less than two weeks away
from the trade deadline.
Before we get into it all,
a very quick reminder to hit that subscribe button.
You guys have been amazing with the support.
Thank you guys.
Let's
dive
right
into
it.
An offer has been revealed.
Now, day three means through rounds four to seven.
So clearly now, both the Chiefs and Steelers,
neither team is necessarily willing
to pay the third that the Colts wanted.
He also added two more things.
He revealed that a deal is expected to go down after this weekend,
and that Indianapolis will likely get a fourth or a fifth,
which lines up exactly with what Adam
Schefter said earlier this afternoon.
What he said was that, of course,
the Colts told teams they want third round value, and
Schefter said nobody at the moment is willing to do that,
and clearly, the Chiefs nor the
Steelers are willing to give up that amount of draft capital.
So seemingly now, within the next 24 to 48 hours,
Downs went from a third round asking
price, potentially now down to a fourth or a fifth.
And let's not forget, Josh Downs, he's 25 years old.
He's in the last year of his rookie deal.
And back in September, I mean,
a lot of people were calling him a very top tier free agent for
2027. So not only does whoever get him help for this year,
and in the Chiefs case, that's very,
very notable, but whoever gets him
also gets the first shot at signing him before anyone else can
bid.
But the clock on this is pretty short.
Again, there's rumblings from Evan Sidery about
a trade happening by the end of the weekend.
But the deadline isn't until November 10th.
So the question will be whether or not this waits till deadline day.
My inkling is that this is going to happen over
the next two or three days, especially.
It could even be tonight.
But just because, you know, tomorrow potentially as well.
But because Josh Downs already requested the trade,
the Colts are trying to get this over with.
So why did the price drop so fast
surrounding Josh Downs to the point now?
Teams are offering only fourth and a fifth.
We can go back to September 30th.
Now, there was projections from multiple outlets
projecting Josh Downs for over 1,000 yards this season
because of the fact that he led the NFL
in average separation per route.
Since that report, he has only 121 yards in four games,
which is about 30 a game.
And in his first three games,
he was thrown to eight times a game,
which isn't too shabby.
But in the four games since, only five and a half.
When your targets drop by almost a third,
your trade value drops alongside with it.
And even his latest game last Sunday, two catches, 18 yards.
This isn't a guy who they're trying to showcase and,
you know, trade at the top value.
This is somebody whose value is plummeting
and the market is adjusting accordingly.
And that's why every GM outside of the Colts are saying,
we're not giving you a third round
pick.
We'll give you a fourth.
And Schefter even laid out the comparisons himself.
He said last year, Rashid Shaheed went
from New Orleans to Seattle for a fourth and a
fifth.
Jacoby Myers' last trade deadline went
from the Raiders to Jacksonville for a fourth and
a sixth.
So the question was simple.
Is Josh Downs as good as those two guys?
And it's a very interesting debate.
Because after those trades last year,
Myers had 483 yards and three touchdowns in nine
games for Jacksonville, which was incredible,
and Shaheed had 188 yards in nine games for
Seattle, but helped them win a Super Bowl,
especially as a punt returner on special teams.
One worked, one didn't work quite as well,
but you are kind of paying for a coin flip
here.
There's a chance that Josh Downs craps the bed
and isn't great, but there's also a chance
that you get an extremely reliable receiver for very, very cheap.
So that being said, like a fourth rounder isn't a low ball.
It's just clearly what the market is.
And that's why the Steelers jumped in.
They need a receiver, arguably more.
Not really, though.
I think ultimately the Chiefs need him more.
But the Steelers are 5-2.
They're the sixth seed in the AFC.
And their receiver room is a mess on its own.
They traded for Michael Pittman.
He got injured.
I mean, they don't have a ton of wide receivers.
Roman Wilson, Ben Sinnott, both of those guys got hurt.
They have DK.
But when we're talking about messy wide receiving rooms,
both the Chiefs and the Steelers are kind of...
At the same level, it's just that the Chiefs,
of course, is messy in a bit of a different way.
Something else, Pittsburgh has liked Downs for a long time.
Back in 2023, before the draft,
their staff even went to see him work out.
So it isn't some random team bidding.
It is clear both teams need him.
The Steelers have arguably been linked more
to Downs than the Chiefs have.
But at the end of the day, Kansas is 5-1, Pittsburgh is 5-2.
It's going to be an absolute bloodbath to see who gets them.
But ultimately, needing him doesn't win a bidding war, picks do.
And something else to look at is if they both offer
the same fourth round pick for this year,
the Steelers are most likely to end up
with a significantly worse record,
meaning a better pick for the Colts.
Now, if the price is a fourth round pick
next year, let's look at the board.
Kansas has its own 2027 fourth round pick
and its own 2027 fifth round pick.
Pittsburgh doesn't have one.
They sent their 2027 fourth to Dallas
in the Broderick Jones trade in August.
Their own fifth is in Miami from the Minka Fitzpatrick trade.
So the only 2027 fifth they have is Dallas's.
So to match the Chiefs fourth,
Pittsburgh has to push into 2028 or jump up to a third.
And they spent two days refusing to pay a third.
Now, could they offer a 2028 fourth instead?
Sure.
But think about who's taking the call.
The Colts just fired their GM.
They're rebuilding.
A pick two drafts away is maybe a little bit less valuable.
Two drafts away compared to one next year where
the draft is supposed to be very,
very strong so that's an edge the Chiefs have
but the Colts aren't just taking the first offer
they're going to clearly be shopping around
and they've already done so this month we traded
Quenton Nelson to Seattle for a third
and a fifth they forced Buckner to San Francisco for a fourth
and now down seemingly for a fourth
and a fifth as well everything is for sale in Indianapolis
and they want the best price before Sunday's tape makes it even worse
Now the money works as well,
Downs has about $2.4 million left on his deal this year, the
Chiefs have about $3.6 million in cap space,
so Brett Veach has a very big choice to make
this weekend.
Offer the fourth now and potentially end it,
or sit on a fifth and hope the price drops
again and risk Pittsburgh finding a way to make it work.
But before all this happened just 30 minutes ago,
we had practice today, and there are
some updates ahead of the big game in Denver.
The biggest update here following the injury report is Travis Kelsey.
He was a full participant on Wednesday,
but today he was limited with an ankle injury.
Now, Matt Derrick says the ankle is the same one he rolled in week six.
So keep an eye out on Friday.
Rasheed Rice was limited again.
That's two straight days, though, that he's on the field.
Now, Jarius Snead as well.
He missed Wednesday for personal reasons.
So a lot of updates around the board.
However, maybe the most notable one is Mansour Delaine.
He wasn't on Wednesday's report at all.
And today he didn't practice with a shoulder injury.
The team says that shoulder has bothered him all season,
and he hurt it in the OTAs
and he aggravated it on the opening drive
in Week 1 against Denver, ironically.
So, Derek thinks it's precautionary,
but if he can't go, Christian Fulton is the likely
starter, like he was in that first Denver game.
And yes, Patrick Mahomes on the injury report,
we know how it goes at this point.
But something else is interesting from yesterday's video
that we got an update on is Omar Norman
Lott.
He was limited both days in his return
from injury reserve, but also, Jalen Moore was
a full.
A lot of updates, nothing too, too concerning.
The biggest one is probably Travis Kelsey.
Now, on the Denver side, Jalen Waddle
and Zach Allen both sat Wednesday
but came back to limited today with safety.
I always mispronounce his name.
Talanoa Hufanga missed both days.
Keep an eye out on that.
Otherwise, it's a healthy team against a fairly healthy team
outside of the wide receiver position for the Chiefs.
At the end of the day, folks, it's going to be a crazy one.
I want to ask you guys down below.
Would you make a trade for Josh Downs?
To be honest, I think at a fourth round pick, I'm all in.
And obviously for a fifth round pick, I do.
But when we look at who's actually available,
A fourth is fantastic.
A lot of these receivers, Garrett Wilsons of the world,
even the Brian Thomas Jr., second-round picks, third-round picks.
If you can get Josh Downs for a fourth,
someone who's arguably going to be better than a lot of these guys
who are actually available and actually get traded anyway,
he'd be the Chiefs' best healthy wide receiver,
I think, the day he walks in, arguably,
next to, of course, Rasheed Rice.
And again, fourth is the one Pittsburgh can't match up.
It's as simple as that.
Now, Pittsburgh pays up and offers a third.
probably let them and go from there
but if it's a fourth round pick I would absolutely go ahead
and do it but I want to ask you guys down below
in the comment section where you kind of view
things right now at the end of the day I think
that the Chiefs are in a very good position to
make a move. Will you guys offer a third? Thanks.
Comment down below. Sorry. Thank you guys for
watching.
