The Chiefs have a SERIOUS problem...
Oct 28, 2026
For five weeks, no one could beat the Chiefs.
Five games, five wins. Then yesterday night in
Seattle, Mahomes and the Chiefs only scored three points.
And here's the thing, it wasn't really
Mahomes' fault, as the Chiefs have a serious problem.
And the problem is one we've been
talking about all year. It is the wide receiver position.
And yesterday showed really how big
that problem truly is. There's
also one number from that game that not only highlights the big
problem, but it's only happened twice in Mahomes' career,
both times this season.
Sort of write down the huge problem
that they have at the wide receiver position,
some reports surrounding new moves that are coming,
as well as some interesting updates,
comments, tons of stuff from after the game late last night.

Let's start with the game yesterday,
and honestly, there's not a ton to talk about.
It was very ugly.
Mahomes went 19 for 33, good for 165 yards,
no touchdowns, and one interception.
That's good, folks, for a 58.3 passer rating,
and he's only had a worse one
in four other regular season starts in his career.
But the whole offense total put up only 213 yards,
and they went three for 11 on third downs,
and they never got inside the 20, not one time,
which is the first time the Chiefs didn't reach
the red zone in a Mahomes start ever,
playoffs included.
Now, their best drive of the night went for 13 plays and 44 yards.
It ended in a field goal, and finally Harrison Bucker hit one,
but their last real chance is when they were down 20-3.
It was four straight incompletions, turnover on downs,
and it was honestly a disastrous game.
The interception from Mahomes came on a short throw to Jalen Royals,
who was a rookie, and that was in the second quarter,
but you could just tell Mahomes was looking for somebody,
anybody, to get open outside of Travis Kelsey,
and it was not happening and it really highlights
this team has a wide receiver problem and to be
fair to some of the wide receivers just
in general Mahomes absolutely missed some throws yesterday he
had a ton in the first half that were off target
and it isn't like 100 on the receivers it's not
100 on coaching defense there's not one clear person to blame
but when you watch it back and
I did so this morning the pattern is the same nobody
is winning the routes quickly no one is
actually like i just mentioned winning routes
and getting themselves open the pocket closes we can
talk about the offensive line Josh Simmons all we want
at the end of the day Mahomes needs to have
somebody to throw to and i think that's
the biggest problem three points highlights that is that ties
the fewest they've ever scored with Mahomes starting
the other one was in Tennessee back in
2021 here's the number i teased earlier Chiefs
wide receivers yesterday six catches 39 yards
on 13 targets and in 152 Mahomes starts
his receivers have been held under 40 yards two
times guess what those two are week one this year against Denver
and then yesterday now i want to
give some props to Travis Kelce he looks fantastic
this year the tight ends had 88 yards Kenneth
Walker had more catches than any receivers
and the only two people that seem to care outside of
Patrick Mahomes really seem to be Travis Kelce on the offensive side
and Kenneth Walker and for
them to get embarrassed in Kenneth Walker's return
to Seattle against Seattle really it was sickening
especially when on the other side,
Jackson Smith and Jigba had an incredible game,
nine catches, 150 yards, and a touchdown for what it's worth.
Yes, one Seattle receiver had nearly
four times as many yards as the entire Chiefs receiver room.
That's what a number one looks
like, and the Chiefs don't have one.
Now, let's pump the brakes a little bit. It's one game.
They're five and one. This didn't necessarily come out
of nowhere, though, and I know a lot
of Chiefs fans out there have been kind of talking about,
you know, maybe the light schedule. Are
Are they really going to be better than last year?
And they're definitely off to a great start.
They're five and one.
They're in a good spot.
But let's be honest about how their offense is right now.
One that relies on 37-year-old Travis Kelce,
who's somehow still leading this team in receiving
with 24 catches and 343 yards.
Is that a good thing?
I'm not entirely sold, but I mean, shout out to him anyways.
On Sunday, he actually moved into fifth all-time in catches.
He's the guy still.
But when your 37-year-old tight end is your number one option,
that tells you everything you need to know about the room
because the receivers, they obviously had planned to be there one,
two, aren't on the field with
Rasheed Rice, obviously hurting his hamstring in week four.
But I also think that when Rasheed
Rice comes back, they still need another wide receiver,
especially with Ja'Quann Thornton,
you know, going down. He was their deep threat,
219 yards and two touchdowns in four games.
He was an up and coming star, if you want to call it that,
or at least, you know, Patrick Mahomes,
WR1, WR2. And obviously with the injuries to Rashee Rice earlier,
he should be returning
like somewhat soon at Ja'Quann Thornton with a devastating injury.
They lost a lot, and we need,
need the front office to get on the phones, Ace.
Now, one name they had left, obviously,
Xavier Worthy, did nothing yesterday.
Literally nothing, and on the season now, he has 24 catches, 217 yards.
It's 36 yards a game, and it's not necessarily
a huge knock on Xavier Worthy,
but is he a WR1? Absolutely not in my eyes.
I think they need to actually go out
and get someone who has the capability to do that,
because right now, behind Xavier Worthy, it's rookies, right?
you have Jalen Royals, Cyrus Allen, Andrew Armstrong
who were called up for the first time, you know
yesterday and was on the practice squad
or got called up from the practice squad, sorry, they need
to figure something out because yes these guys can grow
into something but you don't kind of just
Patrick Mahomes needs help through week six
the Chiefs averaged around 139.2 yards a game which
is 22nd in the league and that was with Rice
and Thornton for most of it, both of whom they don't
have right now and in the two games since
those two guys went down, the total yardage from the
entire wide receiver room 176 yards
the real question right now is simple: who's the number
one receiver on this team, I mean it's Travis
Kelce right now, right? You can think about when
this offense looked like it was at its best, we can rewind
a few years ago, you know, we talked about
the Tyreek Hill, like Travis Kelce's of the world, they need
to get a wide receiver that can get
downhill and maybe more importantly watching
yesterday's game you could see in Patrick
Mahomes's eyes that he didn't necessarily trust any
of the receivers that were there
obviously Mahomes had a few rough throws as well
but the offensive line is collapsing quicker
Mahomes isn't getting the ball out
of his hands quicker they need to figure something out and on
that note obviously we have to talk about up front
the offensive line because the receivers aren't
the only reason this offense stalled
in yesterday's game it did start up front as well now Kenneth
Walker he's been averaging 6.3 yards a carry over
the first five games Sunday 14 carries 36 yards
2.6 yards per carry so he wasn't necessarily
the dominant running back that he had been this
previous five or so games.
But at the end of the day, a lot of it was on the offensive line as
well. Seattle hit Mahomes seven times
and the one good run they had in the fourth quarter got wiped
out by a holding call on Kingsley, which was unfortunate.
And of course, everyone after
yesterday's loss started talking about Josh
Simmons as well. Simmons was the first round
pick in 2025. I had a full video on him yesterday
and you should go watch it because it kind of
highlights the whole situation.
But it's crazy because as soon as the update dropped yesterday
morning surrounding the disagreement
and the the bickering inside the locker room this was a game
they absolutely could have used them since
the Chiefs drafted him they played 14 games without
him and eight with him and the earliest he can come back now
is week 11 against the Cardinals
and you all saw the report this week about
the team meeting we covered it and you'll see I'll
link it down below in the description it's a messy situation
and not one right now that you can count
on you know as it comes as pertains to fixing this offensive line
also an update obviously
Jalen Moore was in concussion protocol going into Sunday as well.
It's been pretty rough,
but there is some good news.
I don't want this video to be all negative. And that is Khalil
Benson, obviously undrafted out of Indiana
was a right tackle in college. He's been a Holmes left
tackle all year. Hopefully he can continue to,
uh, to develop into a very good player because
he obviously got, um, you know,
offensive rookie of the month for September, which was pretty cool.
So shout out to a shout out to him.
So the offensive line isn't necessarily broken. It's
a little bit banged up there's some weird
controversy going on but right now you don't
have a reliable offensive line you don't have
a reliable wide receiving core and guess what else
you do not have a reliable kicker Harrison Butker went one
for three on Sunday he had a 58 yarder at
the end of the half that came up short
and to be honest that was a yes sure it's a difficult kick
but those are ones now at this point
of the NFL where kickers can use their own balls and kicking
is getting more and more advanced by the year you need to have a kicker
who can hit a 58 yarder it
completely changes the outlook of the games.
He also missed a 45 yarder with 833 left. You make
that and it's a seven point game with over eight minutes to go.
And we know what Mahomes magic can
bring. It could have turned it into a different night.
And his percentage now is down to 68.8%
on the season. And from 2017 to last year, he made over 88%.
So this is way off. And we've seen
across the NFL, how, how much kickers vary year after year.
So is it a slump? Probably he's been
one of the best kickers of this era.
I mean, we all know that when your offense is scoring three
points, you don't really have any wide receivers.
You cannot leave points on the field. And I'm
not necessarily saying to cut him.
I don't think you panic cut him right now, especially with the
lack of kickers available, but it is one more thing
on a night where they had a lot of things
that needed fixing. It's another thing to kind of look at,
but let's be realistic here as well.
The team is five and one. The defense just a couple of weeks ago,
held the chargers to six points.
You have Kenneth Walker help is on the way Rashee Rice
is getting better day by day. Maybe
Thornton comes back later in the year
but you cannot wait on maybes and coulds and woulds not
with the Broncos next week Mahomes obviously
in his prime you need to take advantage right now
every single game I know this might sound like
an overreaction but every single game you
lose because of a lack of receiver
or you know lack of whatever you want to call offensive line
the trade deadline is 15 days away
and I think you know Veach really needs to get moving here
Obviously, everyone's going to talk about Tyree Kill.
We don't know yet if that's super realistic.
He would be a name that definitely makes some sense.
There's other names in the trade market.
There's Garrett Wilson, George Pickens, Keenan Allen.
Stay tuned for a video later today on one of those guys.
But ESPN's Dan Graziano does think they're going to make a move,
but maybe not a blockbuster move.
Whoever it is, the shape of it is the same.
They need a receiver that can help take some of the,
not even some of the stress off of Travis Kelsey,
but it can just create some own offense for himself.
It doesn't have to be a superstar.
The one would be nice.
Someone you can go to on third and seven, third and eight.
Someone who can win a route against a very good cornerback.
And most importantly, someone Patrick Mahomes trusts
when the play breaks down.
Because right now, the rest of this roster,
I think is good enough to compete for a Super Bowl.
The defense is good.
The run game when the line is healthy is extremely good.
it's one hole really a couple holes but it's one huge hole
and it's a fixable one the question is
how deep do they want to go to fix it
so folks let me know down below would you take the Tyreek
Hill swing and what do you think the biggest problem
of yesterday's game was was it the
offensive line was it Patrick Mahomes was it the coaching
or was it the wide receiver room could
also be Harrison Butker I don't think they're in trouble they're five
and one but they definitely
got exposed a little bit by the reigning Super Bowl champions
so you fix the receiver room I
think you're going to be in very good shape
so folks i want to ask you guys a question if you're
Brett Veach who are you calling first is it Tyreek Hill
a trade for Garrett Wilson comment down
below the broncos are next it's gonna be a lot to discuss
but we'll see you for another video
later today thank you guys for watching guys are beasts cheers
