Steelers Trade Incoming? - Report Reveals WILD Update | Pittsburgh Steelers News
Oct 24, 2026
NFL Insider has just dropped a huge report surrounding
the Pittsburgh Steelers involving
a wide receiver with a 1,000-yard season on his resume.
His name is Hollywood Brown,
and if you watch the Steelers' receiver room fall apart over
these last two weeks, you already know why
Pittsburgh keeps getting named as a landing
spot.
But here's the twist.
Steelers recently signed Marquez Valdez-Scantling.
So does that close the door, or is Brown still on the move?
We're going to break down that, break down the new reports,
and discuss what it means going forward for this team
as Omar Khan continues to peruse the wide receiver market.
But not only that, we have a bunch of updates
from this morning in Paris surrounding the Steelers,
Aaron Rodgers calling out the team a little bit surrounding getting
in Thursday instead of Monday, and a ton of other injury updates.

So a recent report dropped from Jordan Schultz revealing
that Marquez Hollywood Brown is a name that teams seeking
receiver help believe could be traded in the coming weeks.
Brown is healthy, he has a 1,000-yard season on his resume,
and just last year in Kansas City,
he had 49 catches good for 587 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Now why would a healthy wide receiver
be available if you're the Eagles?
The real answer is because in Philadelphia, he's basically disappeared.
He signed a one-year deal
worth up to $6.5 million in March, but in week one,
he was active and didn't play a single
offensive snap. In week two against the Titans,
he had two carries for 12 yards and zero targets.
Then an ankle injury cost him three games.
And last Sunday against Carolina, he was a healthy
scratch. Added up and six games into the season, he has zero catches.
And not to mention the Eagles
are in a very bad spot they're two
and four they've lost four straight games Jalen Hurts is
expected to miss the rest of the year with blood clots
and that is a I mean they're a team in a
spot that doesn't need a receiver they aren't even using
so they're certainly going to trade him now
it is important to note that some Eagles reporters think
that this post came directly from Browns
camp basically an agent saying please find
my guy some snaps please find my guy a new home either
way the news is out there and the Steelers are at the forefront
so where did the Steelers come in
Jordan Schultz didn't directly say
that the picture Steelers are frontrunners for him,
but it is very interesting because new rumors have started to fly,
including from Sports Illustrated's Nick Faria,
who wrote up a three-team trade destination for Hollywood Brown,
with the Steelers being one of them.
And his case was simple.
Pittsburgh wasn't a fit in the summer,
but now with the injuries to Michael Pittman Jr., to Roman Wilson,
they're pretty desperate for receiving help,
even after Marquez Valdes-Scantling,
And the Eagles and the Steelers are pretty good trade partners here.
Other news outlets put the Steelers on its list too,
with other teams like the 49ers and the Rams,
but Steelers Nation went even further,
calling Brown the deep threat that this offense doesn't
have, hasn't had, and desperately needs.
And there's Pittsburgh's piece to this too.
Hollywood is Antonio Brown's cousin,
and before the 2019 draft, he said,
quote, I love Pittsburgh. They have a Hall
of Fame quarterback. I would love to play there.
And Hollywood Brown mentioned a Hall
of Fame quarterback, obviously talking about Ben
Roethlisberger. They have a Hall
of Fame quarterback now in Aaron Rodgers. Different
guy, same sales pitch. Now right now, a lot of it is speculation.
We know the Steelers are involved
on multiple different wide receivers in multiple different reports.
So will they actually go after
Hollywood Brown? That is yet to be seen,
but it is very interesting. Now to get why this does
make sense, let's look at who's actually healthy.
Michael Pittman Jr. is on the injured reserve with
a foot injury. Roman Wilson,
he's on the injured reserve after hurting his finger against the Colts
and Ben Scran頓 is already
ruled out this Sunday
with a calf injury.
That is three receivers who've
combine for 24 catches
and 309 yards this season all off the field at once. But who's left? DK
Metcalf, who has 30 catches and 318 yards with a touchdown,
and superstar rookie, superstar's a
stretch, I'm going to call him that anyway,
Jeremy Bernard, who has 24 catches and 227 yards. After
those two, you have rookie Caden Wetjen, who is,
and really was drafted to be a punt returner,
which has been a little bit rough lately.
He has zero catches on the year, which is why their tight
ends have been featured heavily.
Guys like Pat Freiermuth, who has four touchdowns, which is more
than any other receiver on the team.
And the reporters who cover this team on a daily basis
agree on what the need is.
Ray Fittipaldo said this week that the receiver position is the only
one that he sees them trading for,
and Mark Cabali went through some other names on his show,
mentioning Juwan Jennings, mentioning Keyshawn Booty,
all these guys. So Brown isn't the only
name, but he might be the cheapest one,
and potentially the best fit. Which brings us to
the move they did make. On Tuesday,
the Steelers signed Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the practice
squad a few days after the chargers let him go
and in three games with the chargers this year he had
two catches for 22 yards this is the emergency button
and the reason they hit it has a name from
2018 to 2021 aaron rogers played with him
in green bay where MVS had 123 catches good for over 2100
yards and 13 touchdowns rogers was asked about him
this morning in paris and he said quote i love
marquez i have played with him many times a bunch
of years he's a smart guy very smart and marquez
Valdez-Scantling said himself that he'd
been in the building for quote a grand total of 12 hours
but there's a lot of carryover
and it should be fairly quick with Aaron and let's not forget
Marquez Valdez-Scantling played with the Steelers last year.
Now Jerry Dulac did report on Post
Gazette that basically it's unlikely potentially
that the Steelers make a trade after signing
Marquez Valdez-Scantling
and that for now they're just trying to apply band-aids sorry. I do
ultimately think the Hollywood Brown would be kind of a band-aid
so take it with a grain of salt and
it is Jerry Dulac. So that's the split.
One Post Gazette reporter says receiver is the only spot
they trade for, and another says they're not going
to make another move after Marquez Valdez
Scantling. Obviously, they can't both be right,
but it goes to show both how kind of tight-lipped
this front office is on the surface,
but also how involved the Steelers have been in reports and
rumors. There is certainly a move coming.
It's just a matter of if it's a big one and if it's
that wide receiver at all. At the end of the day,
Marquez Valdez Scantling is a patch until Pittman
and Wilson come back whereas Marquez
or Hollywood Brown sorry I think would be more of a real number
three who can still be useful
when they play him that's the difference so let's be honest what
we're talking about here every season
of Hollywood Brown's career has been at least decent right 584
yards as a rookie in 2019 769 the next year 1000 in 2021 709
and 574 in Arizona now I mentioned
every year has been good that's
when he was healthy back in 2024 he hurt his shoulder in
the preseason in Kansas City, had surgery,
and only played two games where he still managed to
put up 91 yards. Then, he came back last season
and played 16 games with 49 catches and over 500
yards, so he's not a number one, he's not replacing Metcalf,
he's not even replacing Jeremy Bernard,
but he's a speed guy who makes the defense respect the deep ball.
Now, the catch would be chemistry.
Marquez Valdez-Scantling knows Rodgers from years in Green Bay.
Hollywood Brown has never caught a pass
for him, and some reporters have flagged that as a problem as well.
Now, for those thinking money
being the problem spot track has the Steelers
with about 18 million dollars in cap space and
brown's whole deal is worth only up to 6.5 million
and on that note the clock is running the trade
deadline is Tuesday November 10th that's 18 days from today
and things are picking up very very
quickly but it also goes to show why each win matters
so much and talking about Friday talking
about the game Sunday we have some updates
from this morning Steelers are supposed to practice
at the Stade de France at 11 a.m. today
but about 90 minutes before it got canceled due to weather
wind rain it's crazy over there
and Mike McCarthy said that they had two plans coming in and then
quote frankly driving by I wish I would have stopped
but this is part of our plan you have
some injury reports let's start with the good
news TJ Watt fully off the injury report full
go for Sunday same for Alex Highsmith Cam Hayward
and Jalen Ramsey all the superstars are going to
be available and regarding
who isn't Rico Dowdle dealing with a knee injury he is questionable
the same with Deshaun Elliott
who's been full all week coming off of injured reserve and McCarthy
says they'll make those decisions after Sunday's practice
and regarding who's out Brandon Echols
he's out Ben Sknoric he's out and Sebastian Joseph-Day
who we covered this morning and yesterday he
is out as well so it's gonna be a wild wild game
and Sunday matters a lot McCarthy also talked up
Aaron Rodgers this morning he said quote frankly I'm amazed
on how well he still throws the ball
he played through his eyes not bad for a 42 year old in his 22nd season
and something else to kind
to watch from this he looks like he has
and he has had this season increased mobility and there's
been some rumblings about him working
with a trainer in the offseason all that good stuff
he has been moving better in the pocket he's been escaping sacks
and most importantly he's been
throwing absolute dots which is why all
this wide receiver talk is such a big conversation in the
first place and here's why the Steelers are four
and two and currently in a three-way tie between
Cleveland and Baltimore at the top of the AFC North you win in Paris
and you go into the stretch
before the deadline with a real shot at the division
and that's when a move like Brown or
perhaps even a bigger move starts to make
a lot more sense folks comment down below should the
Steelers go after Hollywood Brown
and what do you think about that move as well just comment down
below your thoughts ahead of the big game
on Sunday it is a 9 30 a.m. eastern start time we'll
