Looking forward, temperatures will continue
to decline as the onshore flow pushes in.
Looking back at October, as we slowly close it out with Halloween,
temperatures could be the coolest of this week.
We've had quite a bit of rain,
nearing a 7 tenths of an inch of rain for the entire month,
so that's good news.
And we could add more rain into our rain bucket,
and unfortunately, that possibility of rain arrives on Halloween day.
There may be a sporadic shower ahead of the bulk of the system,
even as early as tomorrow 10 to maybe 20 percent chance pushing into friday
but the bulk of the system
saturday sometimes saturday evening overnight
into sunday take a look at our rain forecast you
can see here we're looking at percentages driving up
to now 50 to perhaps even 60 percent and sunday
about a 40 percent chance of rain
so the takeaway here is you want to prepare for rain if you are having
the halloween parties if you're taking the kids out
to go trick-or-treating have that umbrella
handy and of course depending on what the weather conditions
are like you may curtail your outdoor
activities here's a look at the future cast thursday
as i mentioned pops of green on the
map they're pushing into friday
and a subtropical moisture associated with this area of low that's
going to help grab that moisture
into southern california you can see widespread rain light to
moderate times but again we will have
a better idea going into tomorrow as it gets closer of
course to halloween temperatures trending today 70s sunshine
a few more clouds we'll call it
partly sunny partly cloudy and then here comes
the rain opportunities even for ontario temperatures
will sink in the upper 60s and 70s
and yes the coastal flood concerns continue to be
impacting much of our coastal areas near
record-breaking high tides we've got king tides
again the range of 7.5 to even 8 over 8 possible today perhaps maybe
a little less high than
yesterday but almost near
not even barely noticeable tidal overflow street closures and
beach erosion expected and all this is of course due
to the fact that we are in an El Niño year we
We have the king tides due to the gravitational pull of the moon
and yes, the Kelvin waves
that pulse of warm water due to heat expansion elevating
our tidal heights to about six inches
to maybe even a foot above normal for this time of year.
Some incredible stuff that we're seeing
and we've got team coverage due to the widespread
impacts for the king tides.
