Brewers Fans on the Brink: World Series Dreams Unfold

I wanted to bring you on because I feel like there is a story here for you and other Brewers fans. Like, explain what's going on in Milwaukee. Explain what's going on for Brewers Nation at the moment for this game, because I know you don't want to believe it, but this is the first time you guys are 27 outs away from winning the World Series, and you feel what? Oh, man, it's just surreal. it's uh being a Brewers fan has been part of my identity since childhood and it's never been a big spending team a lot at least not since 1980 when they went out and acquired Raleigh Fingers and Ted Simmons for what turned out to be a pretty good run at a championship they just didn't quite make it in 1982 might have won that series i i would still contend if Raleigh Fingers had not been hurt for the World Series so and i have old grievances matt old grievances but um yeah so i had kind of made peace with the fact that it might not happen in my lifetime you know i'm i'm playing the back nine and i'm not on the 10th hole and it just seemed like the Brewers were never going to get over the hump but this team has arrived and it's not like it's a team made up of old veterans i I mean, this is going to be the core of their roster for the next five years with Jackson Churio and some of these other guys. I mean, William Contreras, I guess, is a veteran. And Christian Yelich, who kicked off the crazy fifth inning by beating out a force play at second. You know, a replay challenge, and you've got the oldest guy in your starting lineup hustling to get to second. that kind of embodies what the team's all about oh and by the way the the secret ingredient is Chris Hook their pitching coach because every year there's turnover in the Brewers bullpen and every year there are guys I've never heard of who have phenomenal seasons under Chris Hook and the Rays have kind of done the same thing over their history guys who have issues go to the Rays and get it turned around as pitchers Brewers have been kind of the same way they've just revived so many pitchers and made guys careers Packer fans Title Town USA there's been a lot of success for Green Bay Milwaukee with the Packers the Bucks had Giannis for obviously years before this past season winning a championship is this the most improbable in terms where most people in Milwaukee just reside to the fact that look we got a good basketball team we got a great football franchise baseball is never going to be our thing i think so but with this team they made it last year obviously swept by the Dodgers and it was a young team and they had this core and everyone who was a devout Brewers fan knew that they also had the best rated farm system in baseball and still do unanimously so i think everyone knew they were going to get more bites at the apple but it's still it didn't feel like this would be the year Thank you.
