Ukha (Уха) is a clear Russian soup, made from various types of fish and root vegetables. Ukha has been part of the Russian cuisine for hundreds of years. It’s a simple, rustic soup that is delightfully light and flavorful. The fish is perfectly tender and flaky. Light, but full of flavor; a major comfort soup. You can also use a freshly caught fish also, but would need to remove the bones after fish is cooked. This recipe serves 8-10 people.
Welcome to Alice Young Food and to my kitchen.
Today I'm going to be making this delicious Russian soup called Ukha.
In translation it means a fisherman's soup or a fish soup.
It's really really healthy,
really easy to make and very very delicious.
So let's get started.
We're going to need celery, parsley,
carrots, potato, onion, bay leaves.
I'm using different types of fish, salmon and cod.
But you can use any other fish you like or do a combination of both.
and we're also going to need some peppercorns
and salt cut your potatoes into small cubes
cut your carrots into nice discs cut your
celery place your fish into a deep pot and
then add bay leaves
and peppercorns add your
carrots add your potatoes
and cook for another 10 minutes my soup is done
so i'm just gonna pour it into a bowl
