Welcome to my channel Ala's Yummy Food and Milo says hi too.
Hello!
And today I'll show you how to make this incredible Kiev cake.
Now this cake is something just unreal.
It's got meringue, it's got sponge, it's got jam and nuts.
Now everybody loved this cake
when I made it for my dinner party and I'm sure you're
going to enjoy it as well.
It takes a bit of time to make it but it's really really worth it.
I hope you enjoyed this recipe, now let's get started!
Yay, let's get started!
You're going to need eggs, egg whites, flour,
sugar, double cream or you can use heavy cream,
lemon, dark chocolate,
I've got some apricot glaze but you can also use canned peaches
or apricots, some unsalted butter, baking powder,
sweet condensed milk which has been
boiled and is a caramel now and some vanilla extract.
Add egg whites into your mixing bowl
and whisk for about 5 minutes until soft peaks start
form. We're going to slowly add sugar
and keep mixing on high speed until the
mixture becomes nice and fluffy.
Add your meringue and spread it around. Make sure
it's even on all the sides.
First thing we're going
to do is add our egg yolks
into our bowl. Then add sugar, water,
vanilla extract and then add flour and
baking powder. Add egg whites into your mixing bowl.
Whisk your mixture for about
two to three minutes and then we're going to add our egg mixture with
spatula inside. Gently fold
that in because we don't want to lose any air
and just until it's combined.
Pour your cake batter into prepared tin lined with
some parchment paper. While the cake
is still hot we're going to flip it around
and peel off the parchment paper.
To make the apricot glaze we're going to add
water with lemon juice,
then add your apricot jam and we're going to cook this
for a few minutes until it's all combined. To make the frosting we're
going to add unsalted butter
which is room temperature into our mixing bowl.
Add your caramel or boiled condensed milk.
In a bowl whisk your double cream
until soft peaks and then we're going to add our caramel.
Once your cake has
cooled down we're going to cut this in half.
The first thing we're going to do
is add our apricot glaze, then add your cream,
add your meringue layer on top, then
add your second layer of the cake.
Once your cake is done we're going to take
some roasted peanuts
and cover the cake from all the sides. Lastly I'm going to
decorate it with some chocolate ganache
but feel free to use your imagination
and decorate the way you like it.
The cake goes into the fridge until it's set.
