Stuffed Cabbage Rolls - Golubcy are one of my favorite comfort foods. Serve with my delicious tomato sauce and sour cream for a comforting meal. Stuffed cabbage or golubtsy (“go-lub-tzy”) in Russian is a dish of Middle Eastern as well as European cuisine. This dish emerged on different continents and at different times under many names, but the essence of it remained the same: put some cooked grains and minced meat in large leave (grape, cabbage etc), wrap neatly and serve. The result is sensational. This recipe serves about 10 people and keeps well in a fridge up to 3 days. It’s a satisfying, filling meal that is bound to lift your spirits.
Hi guys! Hello everyone! I'm Labdian.
Today I'll show you my grandma's recipe of
stuffed cabbage rolls. In Russian they are called Голубцы or Голубки.
Whatever you want to call them,
they're so delicious, so tasty. It's basically
meaty filling stuffed and wrapped in a cabbage.
It's really healthy. I love it
with my tomato sauce. So let's get started.
We're going to need one large
white cabbage rice red bell pepper
tomato paste I'm using minced pork but
you can also use minced pork
and beef together I've got fresh parsley and
fresh dill garlic carrots large onion bay leaves
and chopped tomatoes the
first thing we're gonna do is get rid
of our core from our cabbage I've got two
pots here we're going to add our rice into one pot
and we're going to add our
cabbage into the other one I'm going
to do everything in my food processor if
you don't have one just have to chop it by hand
and fresh parsley and dill into
a large bowl add all your meat add your onion garlic
and green mixture add salt
and pepper add
a little bit of water add rice
so I've been cooking my cabbage for
about 10 minutes and you can see the leaves
are starting to fall off from the
middle but it's still quite hard in the middle
so I'm just gonna leave it for
couple of minutes we are going to leave it
to cool down add your onion add your
grated carrots cut your pepper
into small bite-sized pieces add your pepper
add tomato puree add salt
and pepper and water lastly
add sour cream separate the
leaves from the cabbage
so the next step is very easy take each leaf and we're
going to just discard this hard bit here
so just cut it very gently so put about
a tablespoon or more of your mixture
and then we're just going to roll it from the bottom up
and down so it's like that place your galoutzi
into a deep dish so now add your tomato sauce on top
