Pregnant woman recovering after being set on fire inside Crown Heights NYCHA apartment

The victim's family tells us the 38-year-old woman set on fire is pregnant and her other young daughter witnessed this whole incident. It was a shock. I didn't know why he did that. Police say just around 5 o'clock on Saturday, they were called to the victim's Kingsborough Houses apartment, where FDNY says she had burns to her face, neck, and back after someone set her body on fire using rubbing alcohol. Sources say that someone appears to be a boyfriend or ex-boyfriend of the victim. Off camera, family members tell us he has a violent history and they fear for their safety. He held the door closed until it set on fire, until the flames ignited, until she was on fire and then he left. For this woman who was visiting her daughter at the time, what she initially thought was some sort of gas leak in the building, turned out to be the unimaginable. You see it on TV, but to literally hear it in your neighborhood, this is a quiet neighborhood. So I never even experienced anything like that. Police say the woman was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, but her family says she isn't doing well. They also added that the baby is stable.
