Earth's First Naked Eye Comet Since 2007 Inbound!

James Coughlin with news report today. A naked-eye comet is inbound. Astronomers were disappointed on April 4th when the sun-grazing comet MAPS C/2026 A1 disintegrated in the sun's atmosphere. Forget about it. Comet PanSTARRS C/2025 R3 is even bigger and better and it's on the way. Wow, says Dan Barlett, who took this picture on April 7th from June Lake, California, now we have a comet on our hands. Comet Pan-STARRS is approaching the sun for a safe, close approach of 0.5 astronomical units on April 19th. It will not disintegrate. On the contrary, it will emerge intact as a naked-eye object with a magnitude of at least plus three or better. Between now and then, the comet may be found in the early morning sky, shining through pre-dawn twilight. It's about as bright as a fifth magnitude star. Between now and then, the comet may be found in the early morning sky, shining through pre-dawn twilight. It's about as bright as a fifth-magnitude star currently. Wide-field cameras with nighttime exposure settings will have no problem detecting the comet's long tail that's bisecting the constellation of Pegasus. The view through the backyard telescope is terrific currently. Set your alarms for early and take a look. If not, again, the comet will be visible to the naked eye in or around April 19th. This is Earth's first naked-eye comet that should be visible to everyone on Earth since 2007. God bless. Please share, subscribe, and always remember that anything's possible in Bizarro World.
