The Steno is expanding its footprint here in Austin.
The Wine Cafe is opening its third location in Westlake,
marking its 12th location across Texas.
And joining us this morning to tell us all about it is Caroline.
Yes.
Thank you for coming.
Thank you for having me.
I'm really excited to announce our new location in Westlake.
How fun.
It's super fun.
Yeah.
Tell me all about it.
Where is it?
What's happening?
So it's in Westlake.
It's in the Villages of Westlake Shopping Center.
It used to be a bank.
So our art wall for this one is piggy banks
on the wall, which is so cool.
It's really quaint.
It's beautiful.
And we hope that everyone gets a chance to come check us out.
Now, you have two other locations,
one on South Lamar, one in Brierwood.
That's right.
This one, it's unique because of the piggy banks.
That's right.
That's right.
There's so many on the wall.
Everyone would be shocked to see all the different kinds.
And we love playing I Spy with it and stuff.
Ooh, I love that.
Okay, so what have you brought this morning to show us?
Yeah, so we have two new bruschettas on our menu,
which is really exciting, so I'm gonna
make some for you today.
So we have the cherry mostarda.
So first we're going to add some ricotta cheese,
which is my favorite cheese, honestly, absolutely.
So then we got that cherry mostarda,
so it's candied cherries and a mustard reduction.
So the mustard might scare some people,
but it actually just brings a big complexity to
the dish.
And that's what you all are kind of known for, your bruschetta boards.
That's right.
And then we're going to add some mint on top for some flavor.
And that's our cherry mostarda.
She actually won the Battle of the Bruschetta this year.
So now she's going to be on our menu permanently
for the next year until the next go around.
Love it.
She earned her spot.
That's right.
the Mexican street corn definitely earned
its spot it won a couple years ago the Battle of the
bruschetta but it's been such a crowd favorite
that we decided to put it on the menu permanently
so we're going to start with some mayo
on there you all know i love my mayonnaise that's right
we got an elote mix here absolutely delicious
yum gonna add some more there and then we're
gonna add some feta sprinkle that on top boom
and then we got some cilantro here oh yum yum yum and
then you can't finish
a mexican street corn without some Cholula drizzled right there on top
okay yummy yummy yummy yes when is the west lake location opening
so people can go check it out
so we are open currently oh you're open yeah absolutely
so if you want to come on down today
tomorrow whenever whenever you feel comfortable
and we also have some other really amazing new
things like new cocktails for the season we got
our strawberry gin blossom our boulevardier and
then this one's one of my favorites it's a Sarti spritz it looks
so it's amazing it's very similar
to like an aperol spritz but sarti um is a little bit sweeter
a little bit fruitier so it's amazing
And at Postino, of course, we're known for our catering.
So if anyone wants to order our catering,
just give us a call at either location.
And we also do a board and bottle special.
Yes, which is my favorite.
Me and my friend always go and get a board
and a bottle and just hang out.
Yeah, Mondays and Tuesdays, 8 PM until we close,
you can get one of these beautiful
bruschetta boards and one of our bottles of wine for only $25,
which I think is the best
deal in Austin.
That's why we go.
Exactly, exactly.
Okay, if people are interested in coming to check it out,
do they need reservations to walk in?
What's the process?
You can either do a reservation or walk in.
We're never gonna turn anybody away.
We want everybody to experience Postino
and we just love making people feel good.
So come check us out.
Okay, I feel like I need to try one.
You do, you do.
I would try, this one's my absolute favorite.
Okay, what is it?
That is our salmon and pesto.
It has pesto on there.
We got a creme fraiche, yes,
smoked salmon on top with some capers and red onions.
This is good.
That one, since I started working at Postino three and
a half years ago, has always been a mainstay, always been my favorite.
Usually my go-to is this one, but- The pepper jam and goat cheese, yes.
But this is a good runner up, I think.
Absolutely, absolutely.
And then if anybody's interested
in coming earlier on in the day from when we
open until 5 PM.
We have an amazing happy hour, $6 glasses of wine, $6 pitchers of beer
and $24 bottles of wine. Again, it's an amazing deal.
Love it. And it's also family friendly, kid friendly too.
There's other beverages as well.
So absolutely love it. One of my favorite spots.
Caroline, anything else before I let
you go? No, just check us out on Instagram at Postino Wine Cafe.
You can also go to postinowinecafe.com
for more information
and give us a call
and come on down.
We'd love to have you.
Okay, I'm going to have to come in
because I need to see
the wall of piggy banks.
You really do.
I love it.
I've already picked my favorite,
so now I need to hear your favorite.
Okay, I will let you know.
All right, stay with us.
We'll be right back.
