Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis morning news segment covers a wide array of local stories, from a controversial HOA request regarding Halloween candy and the electric atmosphere surrounding the World Series in Milwaukee to the heartwarming journey of super fan Samson. Additionally, the program features seasonal culinary treats, a WWE star's acting debut, and creative makeup artistry from Tricochi University.
Welcome back to Wake Up, folks.
And HOA is in the hot seat after sending out a letter requesting
homeowners avoid handing out full-size candy bars on Halloween.
This is just cruel.
Okay, this is the letter.
It was shared on X.
It says, this is intended to keep
the experience consistent throughout the neighborhood
and to not add pressure to other homes to match large offerings.
Of course, this caused an uproar online.
And some say the best part of Halloween is the variety of the candy.
And remembering which houses handed out the full-size candy.
The big question this morning, should anyone have a say
in what size candy homeowners are allowed to give out on Halloween?
If they're not paying for the candy.
No.
You don't have a say.
What are we doing?
Listen, I get it.
You move into a neighborhood, HOA has rules about what you can display,
what's on your yard, in it, out of it.
You do not deserve the right to tell people what kind
of candy bars they can serve with their own money.
It's so true. You remembered
which houses were the full-size candy bars.
Yeah, because you kept going back.
And you would always look forward to going there.
I was still just as grateful for the other homes,
but I can't imagine not getting the full-size candy bars
because the HOA said they couldn't hand them out.
No, some HOAs get a little carried away sometimes.
I actually remember that, obviously,
but there was always a house in my neighborhood when I was a kid
that handed out a can of soda, and I thought that was the best.
You didn't get drinks anywhere else.
No, you didn't.
It was kind of heavy to drag around,
so you kind of timed that one out for, like, the last house.
My favorite was we had a dentist in the neighborhood,
so he would hand out a toothbrush,
which normally you'd be like, who wants that?
That's a brand.
And also a king-size candy bar.
I like that.
I was like, oh, I actually really like the
toothbrush now because I also got the candy.
So he's drumming up business as well.
Absolutely.
And I'm going to give you a cavity.
Look at that PR.
Look at that PR.
And here's an appointment card.
Right?
All righty.
Well, there will be a lot of things consumed this weekend
as we look forward to what is happening
with Game 1 of the World Series.
Take it off today.
Let's kick it off with the bubbler.
Lined.
Brewers play-by-play announcer there, Jeff Levering, with the call.
And Brewers fans will know it was certainly
a call back to Bob Uecker's famous call
when the Brewers won the pennant in 1982.
Of course, the crew, they really hoped to bring the city of Milwaukee
its first World Series title ever.
It's been 44 years since their last appearance on the big stage.
And that mission, it all starts tonight.
Lily's out joining us right now
from American Family Field with the very latest.
Are you as excited as we are, Lily?
Yes, good morning, guys.
We are so excited to witness Game 1 of the World Series.
It's going to be a phenomenal matchup between the Brewers and the Rays.
And for fans who cannot be here in person
at the ballpark to witness this historic game,
And for the fans who are watching back home,
and if you're also listening on the radio,
you're going to hear Jeff Levering's voice.
Again, you will hear him during
the regular season calling the Brewers games.
But, yes, tonight he will be on the radio again,
and he delivered an iconic call.
And that chair next to him was where Bob Uecker used to sit
when he was the iconic voice of the Brewers franchise.
And there you see it, the booth, the radio booth, where you call games,
where Jeff Levering and Lane Grindle call games.
And you see that banner up there,
get up, get up, get out of here, gone.
That was Uecker's famous call on the radio.
And for Levering, he channeled that when the Brewers got the final out
against the Dodgers to clinch their spot in the World Series.
He said it wasn't scripted.
It was something he thought about, of course,
of how to wrap things up in a perfect bow.
But looking ahead, what else does he think?
I know the games have to be played,
but have you thought about what it would be like to call a final out
for a World Series win?
I definitely have thought about it.
I'm not going to let myself get to that point.
I'll steal a line from Murph and say,
let's win tonight and go game by game
because you can't win a World Series
unless you win the first one first.
So go win the first one on Friday night, and we'll see what happens.
I know Uke, his chair, will you guys do anything?
Or is it just going to remain the same,
you think, for the World Series?
Will it be decked out a little bit?
Uke's chair is going to stay the same.
It stays between Lane and myself, or if Josh is on the call,
Uke's chair is going to stay there as long as we want it to,
and we're not going to have it move.
yeah i think it'll
be a permanent fixture inside American Family Field that empty chair
representing Bob Uecker, what he meant
to this organization this franchise and you have to know
he'd be so proud of where this team is right now
and just imagine bob's calls potentially for the
world series that's what these guys miss the most
but uh it'll be so fun to watch this series guys
and to hear more of those calls
and hopefully one that we'll hear from Jeff Levering and company
when the Brewers do hopefully win a World Series.
But like you said, one game at a time.
First one tonight, Jacob Misiorowski on the bump.
Going to be a phenomenal atmosphere inside AmFam Field.
Back to you.
Yes, it will be, Bob.
It's certainly flying high right now.
Lily, thank you.
Well, Lily has been inside for us all morning.
Nicola's been outside of the ballpark for us all morning.
Let's get to her.
You found some tailgaters, I understand, Nicola.
10-04.
Sounds right.
Yes, guys.
Okay, so the tailgate lot's technically open at 3 p.m.
but we're outside of the ballpark.
So pro tip, you can still go outside of the gate and begin
your tailgate. Like my new friends here, meet Cindy,
John, Val, and Keith. They were the first
tailgaters in the lot this morning.
And okay, Cindy, let's look at your progress on this bourbon
bottle here, shall we? I love it.
It's not really my bourbon. It's not your bourbon, but it is
today. It's your bourbon today. This was full.
Look at how pretty this is. This is from the
barrel don't worry I won't spill it
and it was it was full this morning and as you can see these
four individuals have made some serious what did you say it's all Keith
no I'm just kidding
they've made some serious progress on this bad boy
um no here a while we you have been here a
while what time did you guys get here before eight before eight okay
so they were the first ones in
the lot they're going to be here all night first pitch
is at seven o'clock they're going to the
game, and I think you guys are going to feel really good.
You're going to be pretty tuned up
by 7 p.m. Tuned up, yeah.
So they introduced me to a part of their culture, and that is that they
have their shot bourbon, and then these are your sippers.
Well, I don't think we have any shot
bourbon, but it's all sippers. This is all sippers.
This is a real sipper. Well, I thought we just took a
shot with Tampa Bay. I didn't, by the way. Well, we did.
Okay, fair enough. I don't tell. No judgment
in here so this is the real fan breakfast of champions
so with the bourbon we have brownies
which they've what are they they're cookie bars z bars oh yum okay
and then you've got these
beautiful butter cookies
and then over here oh wait we go oh we got is this tequila that's
that's bourbon that's bourbon too oh i'm sorry i read it wrong okay
um we would hate to run out
Haley. What's this crisp? This looks so good.
Apple crisp. Gosh, I love apple crisp. And then
you've got these cheese pockets. Scordano's.
From where? Scordano's. Oh, Scordano's. Yeah,
that place is so good. So this is the setup for the day.
They also have a treat bag that's full
of more snacks. I was telling our friends
in Tampa Bay earlier that this is a really big part
of our Wisconsin culture here is tailgating.
And so I was saying, you know, if you guys have some
friends in Florida who are, you know, going to be here.
They should stop by and make some new
friends. As you can see, people are really friendly, really kind.
And, you know, everybody's
willing to share. Is there a grill?
Do they bring a grill as well? I just lost them.
Oh, okay. Maybe you can hear me now.
I'll try again. Did they bring a grill?
Oh, they did. They do have a grill. That's good
because they're going to need some
sustenance. For the brats too?
Yeah, they're going to need more than just like apple crisps.
They're definitely going to need some hefty food to dry out that alcohol
and soak it up
since they have a long way to go until first pitch at 4 o'clock.
This is what I'm so excited for.
Nine hours to first pitch.
This is the Milwaukee that people need to understand.
We're so fun.
I love it.
I've got something brown in my cup, but it's black tea.
That's not quite the same.
It's not quite the same at all.
Once we're signed off,
then we can partake in however we want to celebrate the Brewers.
That's too good.
I love that they're already tailgating.
That is exactly what you should be doing when it's World Series Game 1.
That's how we do it.
And that's why we're here, like, all day.
Yeah.
We're going to have Brewers on the air,
on our streaming channel the whole time.
Actually, like, any time there's a game.
Speaking of, right?
The lineup here.
So there you go.
4 o'clock.
We've got Fox 6 News at 4 o'clock.
and then. They've got
you've got to keep it here. Join us for
the Fox Local all-day coverage
for everything Brewers. Then
there's special Brewers edition of Fox 6 News
at 5. First pitch, of course, is
at 7. And then stay with us after the game
for a special edition of Fox 6 News
with reaction from American
Family Field. Hopefully like
over-the-top excitement. Yes.
And I keep saying, too, make sure you also
start tuning in at noon for Fox 6 Now
because that's a lot of the time when the media
availability is. So I know today on
our show, we get Christian Yelich, Sal Frelick,
Pat Murphy, Logan Henderson.
So definitely just keep it locked, either
on air or streaming. We've got you covered, all things.
It's beautiful. As we get closer to game time, obviously
there's not as much availability, so you might get
some of the bigger names
talking to you, which is exciting.
And I think we need to do a wellness check
on our bourbon and apple brown Betty people.
I hope we get to go back to Nicola
throughout this broadcast.
You know, in a couple hours, I'll be saying,
let's check in and make sure y'all breathing?
Did y'all have some food?
I mean, we've gotten the opportunity to meet
so many amazing fans through our postseason
coverage, which, speaking of, do you remember Samson,
the Brewers' super fan who went viral
after the win over the Dodgers?
Well, he is getting some special treatment
ahead of the World Series today.
Andrew Amuzu is with him next.
Stay with us.
That's so cool.
Look at that cool shot.
Samson,
you're
all
smiles,
buddy.
I can't get enough of this video.
I smile every time.
Every time.
It warms your heart.
Okay, you're a joy.
It is pure joy. It is a story that has gone viral, still is.
This is Samson Herman. He has cerebral palsy.
He shared his pure joy with our own colleague, Ted Perry,
after the Brewers beat the Dodgers to advance to the World Series.
So when Ted first met Samson, I'm going to give you the backstory here.
He said his two favorite players
are Jackson Chirio and Jacob Mizorowski.
Well, yesterday during media day, we, of course, heard from the Miz.
Ted was in there in company with him as a member of the media.
And Ted asked The Miz about the impact Samson's story has had on him.
Take a listen.
Miz, I don't know if you saw it or not.
After the win in Los Angeles the other night,
I interviewed a young fan with cerebral palsy, literally cannot walk.
And he was overcome with joy.
And I said, who are your favorite players?
And he said, Jackson, Churio, and The Miz.
And I'm just wondering, whether you've seen it or not,
do you give yourself time to think about
the effect you have on these fans
and the joy you bring to a young 13-year-old kid
who can't play the game ever
but is so happy for you that you're going to the World Series?
Yeah, I mean, I did.
I saw the video.
No, it's honestly incredible just having
that effect on people.
So, no, I mean, I really don't have words for it.
You know, it just –
It's okay.
I didn't need it.
It's cool.
Yeah, I don't know how to answer that one.
You know, it's an honor to be in that spot, in that situation,
to have that effect on a fan and someone of, you know, just anyone.
So it's cool. It's really cool.
Everybody loves Samson, even The Miz.
Well, since that first moment with Ted,
Samson was surprised with tickets to Game 2 of the World Series.
And today, another surprise,
he's getting a haircut from the barber for the Brewers.
This is absolutely amazing.
Yes, we want to send it out to Andrew Amuzu.
He's in Bayview where Samson is about to get cleaned up.
How's it going over there, Andrew?
Getting cleaned up, getting the fade, the cut, everything like that.
Might as well take the camera off me and get right into it.
Look at that.
Look at the fresh clip.
Okay, there you go.
Ice Samson.
We got the cape on, everything like that.
They literally just arrived here.
They had breakfast.
They had French toast.
Right, Dad?
French toast it was?
Not yet.
The French toast, we got to go.
So I'm going to go pick that up in a second.
Okay.
Yeah, but that's okay.
Yeah, so about, like, you know, six hours in the car.
um so a little bit of that and then uh
for me i sometimes well kind of like often well i just do
the all-nighter so it's like it doesn't it doesn't
make sense sometimes like to go to sleep right
you know i kind of look at the clock
and say okay i got five left might as well do five you know
yeah but then you know that just means for sure
because we're going to the bucks right yeah bucks
home opener we're going there yeah yeah at three o'clock yeah
so i definitely have to probably get
a little shut-eye because that would be insane
because it's otherwise it's like 48 hours like
yeah so remind us where you're coming
from we come uh from minnesota west of the cities on
Lake Minnetonka and the city is called uh Minnetrista
and it's West Tonka White Hawks
that's our school that's our school yeah
so and i don't know if they do it in Wisconsin i'm from
here i don't recall it but uh at all levels
of school whether it's elementary or middle or high
school they all say the same mascot
so they they're basically yeah elementary kids are no
White Hawks from birth or whatever yeah
and then they're a White Hawk when they graduate from high
school and then effectively a White Hawk for life
that's awesome yeah yeah for sure of course made
the way to Wisconsin how are you feeling Samson you got
the World Series tomorrow i'm feeling
great getting the haircut right now
from this awesome barber is it awesome barber cutting the
players so obviously this makes you even more excited i know
with the the World Series you
got the Bucks game too are you excited
for the Bucks too i'm sure yeah yeah oh yeah probably
loves the Bucks slightly less than he does the Brewers
so that's you know it's uh there is one
Wisconsin team that i will mention
that i won't mention won't mention yeah yeah uh it's uh it's
the Admirals oh yeah yeah yeah
so you know i don't know if you guys consider that to be like
and then he was filming everything
It's one of the other bigger teams.
Andrew, we have a question for you.
And all his buddies are fans of that other team.
So I'll let you do the calculus there.
It's not hard.
Andrew, I don't want to interrupt your conversation.
We have a question for you, brother.
Not here, but in Brookfield nearby.
I think the anchors have a question.
What's up?
Yes.
Does Samson know that the guy who was cutting his hair
also cuts his favorite players?
Samson, you do know that the guy that's cutting your hair
also cuts your favorite player's hair, right?
I know.
The intimidation of this guy is...
I'm going to tell Fox and your barber again who you chose,
whose number you're going to put in your hair.
I'm putting Jacob Mizorowski's number in my hair
and then the Brewers logo.
Oh, my goodness.
That's so cool.
We need a photo after it's done.
Remember what I told you.
Once you do that, it's there for life.
Oh, that is so meaningful.
You got to look at his arms.
See this?
This is when he cut his hair this way on his arms.
I love this.
Dads, they always kid.
Always kid.
No, it's truly awesome.
Literally getting the number and the logo especially.
It's definitely a really cool moment.
And they literally just got here, got right into the chair.
And, of course, they have a Bucs game to get ready for.
And, of course, the Brewers game as well.
But, yes, it's going to take some time.
But, yeah, we'll keep it right here.
And especially with this fresh cut coming up,
I can't wait to show the ending result.
Andrew, real quickly as well, you know, this is a lot to take in.
Like, you asked the dad, like,
how is he understanding the gravity of this moment?
You went from just a fan in the stands to now a viral moment
to getting a haircut by the guy who cuts the Brewers' hair.
To Jacob Mazurowski talking about Samson yesterday.
It's a lot to take in for any fan.
It's a dream come true.
Like, how is Dad processing all of this?
Hey, Dad, so we have a question for you.
Yes.
How are you processing all of this going from just a fan
and to now Jacob Mazurowski's talking about Samson
and now the World Series, how have you been processing all this?
I mean, so it's basically a 47-second story, right?
So we spur of the moment, we have the stories,
you guys have reported on this already,
but we spur of the moment got tickets
for all three games in Los Angeles.
And we have a break in Minnesota called the MEA break,
so it all lined up perfectly.
Because coming down to Milwaukee,
mom said no because it's school night,
so we didn't see the games here.
So anyways, it all lined up perfectly,
and then game one was incredible, right?
Because the Brewers won, and then all
of a sudden all they need is what?
How many did they need after that?
One more.
Yeah, right?
Just one more.
And I always need four more wins to get the whole ring.
Right, and so the night that they clinched,
it was just a massive party.
One woman fainted.
People were crying.
It was just crazy.
And then I just took him down right on the first row of the field,
and he can't walk, so it's a little bit of a work to get him down there
so you can maybe you know i don't know 40 steps uh down
and then uh and then all of a sudden uh
um there the interview was going on for the other player
and then i just kind of notion
i was like hey can you do one more you know
samson here has special needs and then the
interview was 47 seconds
and it turned into millions of views yeah and then uh because
of two super generous people here in milwaukee
who are business owners and they're apparently
uh two of the you know big time guys here uh they
were able to donate the two tickets for
tomorrow night so we're not going tonight
but for tomorrow night yeah and then uh and then
these guys know a guy that owns a huge restaurant group uh
so there's a big party tomorrow that
they're hosting for him they're gonna hand out
brewers jerseys uh they're gonna have some food
and stuff my brother who wants to have a restaurant
in oconomowoc he bought the buildings uh he's
gonna try to meet this guy's you know yeah
and then it's you know it's just
like I've I think that some
of the people involved are angels because it's
just it's too powerful story for them
not to be okay cut a meaningful moment
for your family we're definitely seeing it
was said in the 47 second interview
that you know he obviously can't walk
he has quad spastic cerebral palsy but
But it was spur of the moment, but I said, he's walking tonight.
And then I repeated that and repeated that and maybe louder.
It happened in 47 seconds.
But that touched the heart of your reporter, your lead.
And his name is escaping me.
I feel so bad.
Ted Perry.
Ted Perry.
I'm so sorry, Ted.
I love Ted.
Oh, my gosh.
He just did a live from the Bruce Stadium yesterday.
It was awesome.
But anyways, Ted got verklempt.
he started getting really emotional
and when they cut away ted was like okay back to the you know he
was yeah so and then and you know it went viral really fast
and it touched hearts across the
united states you know my friend uh
who in in japan said it aired in tokyo you know just that
47 seconds i don't think anything else
so yeah well mr david you this has truly been a remarkable
thing, just to see the turnaround. I know
you have some French toast to pick up, so we're
going to stay right here.
Whether it's there getting cold or here getting cold,
it doesn't matter.
Well, yeah, we can't wait to show
the ending result. Definitely
a beautiful story, and it's going to continue
right here in this barbershop. We have got to hear
from the barber himself as well.
Andrew, I'm sure you will get that for us.
I get chills listening
to that. Oh, I cry every time I watch
the clip. It's so moving.
For sure.
I mean, he deserves that.
That family deserves that, you know?
Yeah.
My gosh.
47 seconds, but I think it has a lasting impact
that's going to just stick around for just so much time.
What a classic dad, like, you know,
teasing the kid about, you know, staying in your hair.
And then, like, just being that advocate for your children.
That's right.
Right?
And that's just hardwired into dads.
Yeah.
He was just, like, had to get Ted's attention and get the ball rolling.
Called Ted over.
Right.
Like, had he not said, hey, you know, talk to Samson.
Yeah.
He lifted his son up to be a part of that moment.
A father's love, man.
Dad's got a few angel wings to it.
Yes, he does.
Absolutely.
And so we will check back in with Samson and Dad
and see the progress of that haircut coming up.
More Real Milwaukee next.
Welcome back
to Real Milwaukee.
Let's check back in with Andrew, who, of course,
is with lifelong Brewers fan Samson Herman in Bayview,
where he's getting that haircut by the Brewers' official barber.
Andrew, Samson looks like he is loving this treatment.
he is relaxed in the chair and he's getting that fancy new do yeah
and right now this part of the
haircut's all about precision
so it's like it's it's we're just seeing the the artistry right
here you can already see it right here working
on the back here we wanted to get the number
of Jacob Mizerowski got the um logo all
of that we're getting the artistry here and so it's it's
all about being very still
and everything like that i see i see what you're doing here and i'm
like oh my gosh there's a lot of detail that goes
into to this talk me through about what's going
on through your mind and how you're making
this happen hey man this is a special moment it's all
about samson you know so we're just creating
something beautiful here for him and it's uh
something cool you know it's just
a lot like you said a lot of precision
a lot of patience and we're gonna get it get it going
for him for sure yeah and you even heard
just how much this moment means for his dad
for his family i think that's sort of something
notable that i want to remind people that they're coming all
the way from minnesota so they've been
on the road for those who missed it earlier they're going
to be going to the milwaukee bucks
game later today and then of course game two to the world series
but i think i'm gonna have a
fresh cut like this i mean that gets you all set
and ready as well so obviously he's cutting uh the
barber here mr samora he's the official barber
of the milwaukee brewers here but obviously he
has a very very um just iconic fan here right
in his seat right here how are you feeling right now
i know you got he's almost finished i'm great i woke up
at 2 a.m to get here but i'm here and
I'm getting my hair cut, and it's great.
Yeah, it truly is.
And I know you have the Bucks game coming up,
but World Series game two.
I mean, that's tomorrow.
Any predictions you have for the game tomorrow?
I'm saying Brewers taking 5-2.
Ooh, okay.
All right.
Very specific.
5-2.
I like that.
And then would that be like they're tying up the series 1-1,
or they're taking a 2-0 commanding lead?
They're taking a 2-0 lead.
We're winning tonight, too.
We're winning tonight, too.
Miz on the mound, I don't think we'll lose it, boys.
Ah, I love it.
Miz on the mound and the number on the back of your head.
I mean, that's the secret ingredient right there.
So we'll send it back to you for now because we're almost finished.
I don't know how much time you have left in the show,
but I think if we guys later on,
we'll be able to see even more of the finished product.
Can we see some of it right now?
Really, really cool moment right here.
I think we're seeing some of it
in the mirror reflected behind the barber.
Can we see a preview of what it looks like now?
let's see if we can sneak peek really quickly
oh it's taking shape guys oh oh that's gonna be
amazing when it's finished steady hand steady hand oh
is this the coolest haircut you may have ever
had oh yeah by far by far he's doing
so great holding still too because you can't you don't
want to move at the last no i am so dialed
into this oh my goodness thank you so much andrew
We'll check back in for updates as well.
Now, it is the season, right?
You can take in all the fall colors, the seasonal outdoor activities,
and still hit the water park.
Yes, it's at the Timber Ridge Lodge and Water Park.
We've got Jeff and Mercedes here kind
of unpacking a popular breakfast item
that we know you and the kids will want to eat
and maybe make from your own home.
Let's start with this, guys.
First, thank you for being here.
Happy World Series Day, Game 1 anyway.
That's a huge, huge reason as well we're celebrating.
Okay, so we've got some food here.
Talk to us about why this.
How big of an item is this on your menu?
Well, I mean, it's perfect for fall.
You think of fall, you've got a campfire.
You're going to make s'mores.
You've got the graham crackers, the chocolate, the marshmallows.
And what a perfect way to add that to breakfast.
So we created the s'mores pancakes.
S'mores pancakes.
And you call them kid-friendly, I'm
assuming, because they'll love them.
Of course, they're adult-friendly, too.
I was going to say.
I hope the adults here can taste it afterwards.
What was the inspiration, like what made you come up
with it other than just, you know, campfire and stuff?
Did you, you know, guys sit down and brainstorm other ideas,
or was this the leader from Jump?
Well, we recently opened Fireside Terrace, which is,
we've got fire pits right outside the water park,
and they're great for s'mores in the evenings,
and what a perfect complement, breakfast pancakes.
There you go.
Mercedes, what makes it special for you,
as you're back there whipping it up?
It just reminds me of my childhood.
Making s'mores and then adding it to the pancakes.
Who doesn't love pancakes?
Come on, man.
Any other products that come with it.
Is there something special you do to them in the kitchen?
When I was growing up, I liked my edges crispy.
Is that how you make your pancakes?
Edges crispy, extra chocolate chips.
Okay, there we go.
Are we demonstrating today?
Yes, presumably.
Let's dig in.
Let's dive right in.
How do you do it?
Is there anything specific about the actual pancake mix?
No, you can really use your standard pancake mix.
Pancakes, homemade, if you would like, whatever.
Okay, okay, okay.
So we can just pick up our favorite pancake mix,
and then it's the add-ins that make it special.
Exactly, exactly.
We don't have one of those at home, though.
I was going to say, yeah, uh-uh.
That's a little fancy for what I have at home.
Pancake dispenser.
They've made it easy for y'all now.
All right.
Are they, what would you say, like two or three inches across,
maybe a bit bigger?
Yeah, a little bit bigger, a little bit bigger.
Okay.
It depends on this.
You get, like, our big mousse, which is, like, triple the size.
Oh, so there's, okay, so you can order a bigger one
if you really want to have something the size of your head, right?
Exactly.
Oh, chocolate chips go in first.
Interesting.
Do you add syrup on top of all of this?
We do.
Do you?
Okay, because there's not nearly enough sugar in the pancake.
With the s'mores, too, once it melts and everything,
once it creates a s'more effect, once it melts and everything,
I bet you guys get kids bouncing off the wall.
Oh, yeah, I can only imagine.
That's okay, because they're in a water park.
Yeah, we're the perfect playground for that.
Work it off.
It's about 50,000 square foot of indoor water park space.
I mean, it's such a Wisconsin thing, too.
Obviously, we're kind of the world capital for water parks,
whether it's the Dells or Lake Geneva or wherever.
And it's so nice in our Wisconsin winters
to be able to do something like this inside.
Absolutely.
It's a great location.
We're located right on the Grand Geneva campus.
So in the winter, we've got our ski hill open,
which is a great experience to learn skiing or snowboarding.
and then warm up in the water park
where it's always 85 degrees and sunny.
Right.
Your apres ski can be in a swimsuit.
Absolutely.
That would be a different take right there.
I like this.
And games and stuff.
We're seeing the B-roll right here, right?
Yeah, we've got a great arcade,
a little bowling, a little mini bowling action.
There's a lot to do for the whole family.
I like this.
Okay, you guys also have what is called Dad's Day Off Blonde Ale.
Yep.
How does this taste?
So that's one of our amber lagers, and that's a partnership
that we've done with Deusterbeck's, a local brewery by us.
Don't horn right, I believe.
Absolutely.
And then I think we got your picture on the front of that can.
Are you being funny?
Yeah, absolutely.
I'm being funny.
Oh, I was going to say, wait a minute.
Let me, for a second, we've had some people come in and customize cans
and stuff, so I was like, are you serious?
It does look a little bit like me.
Not too far off.
I almost mistook you for the person on here, Rob.
Oh, I love it, for sure.
Now, we haven't added the marshmallows in just yet,
so we should be quick at that in here just to finish up the recipe.
A couple more minutes?
All right, well, we may have to check back in then in a little bit here
to get the finished product, and we'll do the taste test
because I just had our producer get in my ear and say, move it along.
We've had a very busy show, but they smell good already,
and I think we'll check back in for the finished product.
There's a sample of one you made earlier right there,
And you can check them out, of course,
Timber Ridge Lodge and Water Park for either your pancake needs,
your skiing or your water parking.
And we are looking forward to tasting this before the show is done.
Stick around.
We have more Real Milwaukee on the other side.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you.
Here
we go.
We have sort of the last look right here, the finishing touches.
I will say, Samson's been smiling this entire time.
He knows this is going to be a fire cut.
You can't even see it because it's in the back of his head.
He's so good.
He looks wonderful.
How are you feeling right now, Samson?
Great, and this is the best haircut I've had.
What do you say to Mr. JP?
Thank you.
Anytime, buddy.
Yeah.
It's truly awesome.
Look at that, 32 in the back, and then you have the Brewer's logo.
Look at that with the face.
Come on now.
Looking clean.
Oh, my gosh.
How are you feeling?
How do you like this cut right here?
I'm so touched, you know, like, I gotta say,
I haven't been verklempt so far at all that much,
but you're doing it, man, you're doing it,
I don't know why, I don't know why.
The other reporters for Fox 6,
they didn't do it, but, you know, y'all stop.
Andrew's pulling the tears out.
It's just a blessing, I mean, honestly, honestly,
like, and this is the very first thing,
it's the very first thing, you know,
I didn't mention it yet, but they're starting a trust.
a non-profit foundation in Samson's name
and we're going to find really good people
maybe one of the Fox 6 people
to be on the board
and there's just so much
we can do
I'm a master scuba diver instructor
for a long time
and I've had a lot of special needs people
veterans that have had
all their limbs blown off
and you bring them in the pool
and they're free for just a few minutes
but it's huge
and that's a huge thing to have a non-profit
and and any way that you can share us with the
information i know we have to wrap up
but um anyway to share that information it's idea only
but well yeah these guys
in milwaukee they're pretty powerful i mean come on now you see it
right here and you can even see it finally
with this uh final cut here this is truly awesome you
see that perfect smile on samson's face
so a perfect perfect moment oh man he looks amazing
Andrew, thank you for chronicling that journey for us, man.
That has been beautiful to watch just
in the past, what, 20 minutes or so,
or 40 minutes or so we've been on air?
Right.
Wow, that is beautiful.
Your story just reminds you it's about so much more than baseball.
This World Series.
People are still good.
Yes.
You see a lot of bad in the world.
You see the best of humanity.
Yes, you do.
Yes, you do.
All right, folks, got to get to what's happening in headlines.
On the Hollywood front,
WWE star Drew McIntyre is starring in a new micro drama,
apparently right, Gino talked with him about agent
of shadows world's most deadly and effective
secret agent you're gonna protect your daughter
by becoming her nanny people think it's so easy
to act the most difficult thing is being natural
and you have that naturalness how did you master
this as well thank you buddy that's a heck of a compliment
because that is the most important
thing is you're learning learning to have
your shoulders do that which took me many many years
to get to that point I think the reason I adapted
so quickly as I started in
wrestling so young at 15 I was signed
when I was 21 years old the 20 years ago
now my god the WWE I think I had
my 19th year anniversary a few days ago actually
for my very first Smackdown match
and I basically grew up in front of the
cameras even though I was away
from Scotland away from my close family away
from everything I knew the one thing I knew
was the ring and a camera so
whenever I saw a camera I
was like oh I know you you're my friend and I relaxed
I became more comfortable with a camera than
in most social situations, which is ironic
considering my job.
I'm a bit of an introvert
and the first movie I did with Dave Bautista, who actually got
me the foot in the door in that world,
he told me like, I know you're nervous, but once
you see the camera, you're going to relax and sure enough,
I relaxed and then I did
my best and the feedback has been incredible
from the performances in that world and really
has built my confidence and has led to other projects
and it's just been steamrolling the
past few months show up and be her dad i have way
bigger concerns like what like me yeah let's talk
about it it's a different kind of thing i love
that uh that WWE has entered into this world of
the micro drama yeah i never heard
of it until they called me to be honest and while i was in
i was living in barcelona for for three months
with the Last True movie and um you know ben
hauser told me about it from WWE
and i was like wow that sounds fun that world and again never
heard of it i'll do my research the character sounds great
the plot sounds great it sounds
like our audience will really really enjoy
that and they have a massive audience of their own and
i did a little background and research
and it was like this is a billion dollar industry how
do i not know more about this and i started looking
into it getting lost in some of the
micro dramas especially on the ReelShort app
and i was like man i'm just lost an hour like i just
put my head down and that's the way everyone
consumes content now especially the younger
generation and i travel so much i was like wow
this is kind of perfect for me and clearly this
is the future and it's awesome we're part of that world
and there's so many WWE superstars in there
and so many easter eggs in there for our fans
but it's for everybody as well it's so easy to watch
and the action is great but i think people's performances
from our world will surprise
everybody he's coming for your daughter
who are you fbi cia i'm adam hawk all right
agent of shadows premieres today on real short here it
is get scrolling get scrolling we shall
All righty. All right. Hey,
put in the finishing touch on your Halloween look.
That's a lot of you.
Not us, because I still don't know what I'm wearing.
Halloween makeup trends you may want to try at your own home.
That's fabulous. That's impressive.
Makeup can really take your costume to the next level.
Marilyn and Christian are here with some ghoulishly glam models
to show us what's trending for Halloween.
Thank you guys so much for stopping in.
Thanks for having us.
I walked over. My breath was taken from me.
These are so impressive. You've done three looks here.
Talk to me about Mother Nature.
I said, you don't even need a costume if you walk in with this hair
and makeup. Mother Nature comes from a very organic concept.
The look of trend is very green,
very teal, very kind of rooted organic colors and pigmentations.
Some decals, which are your
butterflies, and just a lot of shadowing and deep pigmentation.
Our model and student, Justyna,
styled her hair up again mother nature referencing you know earth
in the tree yeah and then we've got
some moss here going on on her face just to really ground
the entire look i do want to warn anyone if
you do this for a party you will be the talk of the party
and people are never going to leave you
alone they're going to have
so many questions the hair was done in 30 minutes which blew my mind
and i love the makeup here
because it's almost 3d with the moss thank you i appreciate it that's
a fun aesthetic and it's very lightweight
which is key because if you're going out and you're
having food and you're having cocktails
or drinks you don't want to be like locked in with a mask
right this is very organic you can eat you can have fun
and it's a simple wash off as well how
difficult is the moss i know you're going to kind
of show the moss is actually not too difficult you
take a product from Kryolan
which is our product line you just apply a little wherever you want it
it's like a spirit gum you hand that to you
and then i'm going to take a little bit of the product
okay i'm going to just apply it kind of pat it
in you can place it wherever you want for visual
effect or depth. I feel like anyone can do that actually.
Yeah, it's pretty easy. You just seal
it with a little bit of fixing spray or setting spray
and this should last you throughout the
evening. I love it. All right, so we are obsessed with Mother Nature,
but maybe you're more into art
and I know you brought some pop art with you as well.
Absolutely. We have Madeline in the middle
here and Maddie. We are inspired by,
it started off with the very Andy Warhol aesthetic, but very
much pop art. So much like you would see a negative
and or a very blocked print of color blocking,
We chose some reds and some blues to differentiate the tonality
and the structure in her face
And then the black trim in the lining is to really kind
of age the face to make it almost look like it's print work
As opposed to actually a live human being
because you can kind of do whatever you want with the dots, too
Yeah, what you want freedom. Absolutely.
You want to follow creative freedom, of course
But you also want to follow the linear lines of your guest's face
So along the nose bridge the interior cut of the nostril
Around the jawline and also the cheekbone
also the falsies, these eyelashes
are amazing. I just noticed those. They're moving, definitely.
I thought originally when I saw the
whole face was, you know, covered in makeup here,
that must take a lot of time. But you said really
we started at six this morning
and I knocked all three looks out in about an hour and a half. Wow.
So yeah, this is so doable for whatever kind
of time crunch you might even be on. And then you
also have kind of your traditional Halloween monster look as well.
Correct. At the very end,
we have our recently graduated student, Jason,
from our cosmetology program. All three are cos.
And we went with a traditional kind of Frankenstein-esque,
you know, risen-from-the-dead kind of look.
A very antique face with some shadowing of blacks,
browns, and some greens.
And then some just rather randomly placed lines
to depict aging and decay.
Yeah. You want to show us how to do these kind of lines?
Yeah, I would love to, absolutely.
So you want to use a palette that is kind of creamy base
so that the mixing element of it is very light in texture.
a smaller brush is ideal and wherever you want
to decide you want to go you're going to come on the
face and just drag your brush
and very randomly start turning it oh nice to create a line and
then you can go back in and you can always fade that out
or add a different direction that's
amazing that kind of a thing
and you can smudge it to make it as wide as you want or as um diffused
as you want but you've got some options there i think
this is a great reminder that you know
makeup can be fun and it can,
you can be so creative with it, whether it's for a Halloween
costume or in your everyday look,
it can add so much to what you have going on and you can show
off your personality almost with the canvas
that is just your face with some makeup here. It's
artwork. Yes, absolutely. That's the perfect way to describe it.
Tell me a little bit more about
your school while you're here as well. Yeah.
So Tricochi University, we are here across the
Midwest. We have campuses in Illinois, Indiana,
and of course, Wisconsin. And we offer cosmetology,
which these students are all cos students.
We have aesthetics.
We have nail manicuring and barbering.
I mean, clearly, they are pros at what they are teaching.
This is truly so fun to see.
Hopefully, people at home are getting a little inspiration
if they're still trying to figure out those Halloween costumes.
Thank you guys so much for coming on.
Thank you for having us.
We've got more from Milwaukee coming up next.
All right, we've got the final results from our S'mores Pancakes,
Timber Ridge Lodge, and Water Park.
Got to get a little taste in here.
These would not be good pocket pancakes,
though, because they're kind of gooey.
Well, speaking of pocket pancakes.
Pat Murphy.
Have a gooey pocket.
Let's go to Pat Murphy's home.
Get ready to look at Amphan Field.
Yes, in a matter of minutes.
I'm sorry, hours.
Yes, Game 1 of the World Series will take place at 7 o'clock.
They're practicing now.
They're practicing some of the pre-show things.
You guys, we're hype.
We're going to blow the roof off.
I think that's what Christian Yelich said yesterday.
Well, in his words, to God's ears.
Go, go, go.
