The IRGC continues to attack cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz despite ongoing diplomatic efforts between the U.S. and Iran. While President Trump maintains that negotiations for a solution are active, the U.S. naval blockade remains in effect. Tensions are further heightened by reports that Iran and Oman are discussing the implementation of transit fees for the waterway.
James Kaufman, World News Report Today.
The IRGC continues to attack ships in the Straits of Hormuz,
killing at least one sailor.
The Iranian regime is continuing attacks in the Gulf
as the United States explores a diplomatic solution
with Tehran to bring peace to the region.
The IRGC struck at least two cargo ships yesterday,
Monday, with drones,
while Trump believes that they have cease-fired in the Straits.
We also have Iran and Oman talking about charging a fee for every ship
to go into the Persian Gulf and to leave the Persian Gulf,
and about splitting the proceeds.
This is not what Trump or any of the other countries had in mind,
and I don't think it's going to work out.
I do remember Trump saying that if anyone's going
to charge a fee, it'll be us.
They're making a complete mockery out of this extended ceasefire,
and no one will be paying any fees to transit
the Straits in return for not being fired upon.
One of the ships that was hit, again, reportedly is missing a sailor.
And meanwhile,
the U.S. continues to block the opening of the Persian Gulf,
i.e. keeping its blockade in place.
That's Senator Trey Yanks from Tel Aviv, Fox News.
Good morning.
While the Trump administration explores
a diplomatic solution with Iran,
the IRGC is continuing attacks in the Gulf.
Overnight, at least two cargo ships were hit with unknown projectiles,
according to maritime tracking groups.
At least one crew member is reportedly missing from one of the vessels.
The incidents do come as the U.S. naval blockade remains in effect.
CENTCOM says that as of August 3rd,
they have redirected 44 commercial vessels and disabled two others.
President Trump posted to True Social on Monday, saying,
in part, nothing gets through to Iran unless we want it to,
And nothing will get through unless a deal
or total surrender is accomplished.
The president went on to say whether Iran wants to admit it or not,
we are, in fact, talking of a solution
to a problem that they have caused.
The president described the state of play
with Iran yesterday from the Oval Office.
Mr. President, are the talks with Iran now off
and are airstrikes back on?
No, they're on. They're going on right now.
It's an amazing thing we have a little problem with Iran
because we have many talks and we'll say we have or we don't have.
We're straight about it.
but they deny it.
But they're not denying it now.
This is their last chance.
This is not something that, if it doesn't happen,
this is their last chance for them to sign a good document.
Reports indicate Iran and Oman are nearing a deal
regarding control of the Strait of Hormuz
and splitting service fees between them.
It's not clear if these terms would be acceptable
to the Trump administration that has maintained
zero fees should be charged in this international waterway.
We can confirm that the efforts are still ongoing with all the parties.
We are looking towards
diplomatic resolution as we are speaking right now.
As you know, there are current efforts
on the ground that are in very progressive stages
and we are working with all the parties to see
this effort. So I can confirm that the efforts are ongoing as we speak.
There are uncertain days ahead
as the region waits to see if a deal is possible
or if the Middle East is looking at a return.
We can most definitely agree that we're looking at war.
I think it's laughable that they're negotiating with Oman entry fees
and exit fees for the Persian Gulf.
I know that Trump's not going to go for that.
And that's where they're spending most of their time doing right now.
It's a complete joke.
It's not a canal.
It's an open waterway.
Typical crap.
Trump must not know what's going on.
Let me tell you, they're making a mockery of this extended ceasefire.
It should have been a gift.
God bless, folks.
Please share and give us a thumbs up.
And wish us lots of luck
because we're going to need it over the next few months.
