A potential fifth assassination attempt against Donald Trump was thwarted by the Lomita County Sheriff's Department. Janine John Taylor was arrested at Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes after being caught filming security operations. He faces federal charges for possessing an unregistered short-barrel rifle, alongside various state charges and a prior robbery warrant.
James Kaufman will news report today possible
fifth Trump assassination attempt thwarted by
Lomita County Sheriff's Department.
This report is according to first assistant U.S. attorney
for the Central District of California, Bill Esselai.
Janine John Taylor, 38, of Downey,
who was arrested at Trump National Golf Course
in Los Angeles in Rancho Palos Verdes,
is charged in a federal criminal complaint
with possession of an unregistered short-barrel rifle,
a felony carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison.
Taylor was detained after being seen taking photos
and videos of security planning activities
ahead of President Trump's visit to the golf club.
Now, there are some mistakes,
but I'm going to make sure that I correct them.
Lomita County Sheriff's deputies found ammunition in Taylor's pocket,
searched his vehicle, and seized a loaded pistol,
a round chambered, and a loaded magazine.
Most people are saying
that the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department made these, well,
fines, and that's incorrect.
Now, I'm sure they did get involved,
but a search of Taylor's residence seized high-powered firearms,
ammunition, body armor, and a notebook.
The only federal crime they have this guy
on is an unregistered short-barreled rifle.
Wow, that's scary.
The rest of them are California state charges,
and we know what will happen to those.
Taylor has been charged in Los Angeles Superior Court
with possession of firearms, firearms-related crimes,
and a 2025 robbery that he was already wanted for.
He was granted a $250,000 bail in those cases.
He is expected to make his initial appearance
in the United States District Court
in Los Angeles soon after his transfer to federal custody.
Again, the only charge they have him on is owning
this unregistered short barrel rifle.
That's a maximum penalty of 10 years.
You guys might know that, well,
I know a lot about AR-15s and actually used to manufacture them,
and I'm not quite sure what this slide here is.
Is that an auto versus semi,
or a three-shot versus semi switch,
or do y'all know what that switch is at all?
I personally don't, and I've seen a lot of ARs.
The first assistant U.S. attorney
for the Central District of California continued,
While we are still investigating this individual's motives,
we are thankful he was apprehended before President Trump's visit.
Thankfully, the Lomita Sheriff's Department intervened early
and prevented a potential dangerous situation.
We thank them for their quick work.
This remains an active investigation,
and we will keep the public updated.
updated. And again,
that was the first assistant U.S. attorney for the Central District of
California, Bill Asaley. God bless, folks.
What do y'all think? They have him with a loaded handgun
at the golf course and was taking pictures of the layout,
but they had to go to his house
to find this, well, felony, federal felony,
which is an unregistered, short-barreled AR-15.
Let me know what you guys think in the messages below.
Please give us a thumbs up if you will, and please share.
God bless.
