UFO Physics Explained: What Happened Near Nimitz? Kevin Knuth

What would thousands of g do to a craft and its occupants? Physicist Kevin Knuth walks through the reported Nimitz Tic-Tac and Japan Airlines encounters—and the extraordinary acceleration, energy, and power estimates they imply under his assumptions.
Kevin Knuth, a physics professor at the University at Albany, first explains the Nimitz case, then turns to the 1986 Japan Airlines encounter over Alaska.
We cover the assumed mass behind the roughly 1,100-gigawatt peak-power estimate, the waste-heat problem, where braking energy must go, and the reported radar jumps behind the Japan Airlines estimates.

Includes illustrative animations and five reconstructed physics slides with LaTeX equations. The animations are not encounter footage or measured trajectories. The Nimitz slides distinguish the literal height/time calculation (about 5,720 g) from Kevin's rounded 5,400 g power example, which assumes a 1,000 kg mass. The Japan Airlines radar table and error bars were not supplied for this edit. The Moon comparison assumes constant speed, not a complete flight trajectory. The estimates depend on the reported observations and model assumptions; the visuals and arithmetic do not independently verify either encounter.
