AI GeneratedA weather report focusing on current windy conditions in Florida and a developing storm system off the mid-Atlantic coast. While local temperatures are pleasantly cool and fall-like, strong winds have triggered advisories and dangerous surf conditions along the East Coast.
Today, I mean, already looking quite gorgeous.
You said the wind is what we've got to watch out for.
The wind, yeah.
I like when it's windy.
Don't feel that on the bike for sure.
Just keep a good grip on those handlebars.
Yeah, the big trucks, you know, going by, especially the semis.
You'll notice that wind.
I don't know.
Even me and my little SUV on I-4,
when I feel that wind gust, I'm like, oh, here we go.
It's a good wind, though.
It's a comfy, refreshing wind, Hannah.
It's not coming from the south-southeast.
Winds have changed.
Winds have changed.
Oh, the fog.
I know.
We can all breathe a sigh of relief here this morning
because it does feel comfy.
It feels refreshing, but the wind, it's going to be cranking here today
as this storm system off to our north and east continues to intensify.
You can see kind of the rougher chop out there
on the Indian River Lagoon.
That's a live look from our Grills Riverside camera in Melbourne.
The palms blowing there, but it looks nice.
Look at the sunshine.
We didn't have a ton of that yesterday until late evening.
We did start to see it come back out, which was so nice
as that cold front shifted southeast.
There's the system I was just talking about,
the area of low pressure going to continue to intensify
off the mid-Atlantic coast here as we get some upper-level support.
That's going to make for really an all-out
nor'easter as we progress into early next week
that could even gain some tropical development.
But it is going to be a subtropical system, we say.
At this point in time, it looks like it's going
to not have any fronts attached to it,
But it will have what we call a cold core instead of a warm core low,
which is essentially a tropical system as it develops in a much warmer
environment down in the tropical areas of the Atlantic, the Caribbean.
But this one, still either way, whatever it does become, it's going
to bring heavy rain and gusty wind, likely up the eastern seaboard.
So we'll keep tabs on that.
A 30% chance of development over the next week.
But here at home today,
wind gusts up around 30 to 35 miles per hour around Orlando.
At the coast, even stronger
with gusts potentially near 35 to 40 miles per hour,
if not a touch higher than that, just offshore.
And that's why we do have wind advisories that have
been issued by the National Weather Service
through 8 p.m. this evening, all for our east coast beaches,
even just inland of the Intracoastal there for portions
of Brevard County up into Volusia County.
You can see the big breaking wave potential out there,
maybe as high as 11 to 12 feet.
And you're going to see the red flags flying
on our East Coast beaches for the dangerous rip current risk.
So definitely something to think about.
The surf is going to be high this week,
and that is why we have high surf advisories through 4 a.m.
I know this is a surfer's dream, but just be careful if you
are planning on getting in the surf here today into our Monday.
I know I mentioned this yesterday.
If you had boating plans, may want to reconsider,
just be prepared for really rough conditions out there.
We have gale warnings here in the purple
from Flagler County all the way down into Brevard County
and then south of there into Indian River County,
small craft advisories for the big swells offshore.
Now, if you have plans to be outdoors today, aside from the wind,
it's actually going to be a really nice day.
Can't completely rule out a couple of sprinkles at Universal Orlando.
Rain chances around 20%, but it's going to be brighter
with temperatures well below normal in the mid to upper 70s.
Great night to be out at Halloween Horror Nights
if you have plans this evening.
Mid to upper 70s really across the metro as a whole,
out toward the coast, middle to upper 70s as well.
But notice Gainesville and Ocala a little cooler there.
Low to mid 70s and you are cool this morning.
Tonight, once again, chilly, 50s on the map in Gainesville.
likely Ocala and areas to the northwest
could sneak down into that realm as well.
So probably smart to grab a hoodie out of the closet
or a light jacket mid to upper 60s for us, though, closer to Orlando.
Now, you'll see that sprinkle threat,
as I was talking about, on future casts.
Rain chances are slim, but on our Fox weather model,
you can see some of those sporadic showers working in from the coast
with this dominant onshore flow around 2 o'clock.
An isolated shower is a possibility.
They are quick-moving, nothing all that heavy,
But don't be shocked if you have
to dodge some raindrops even through later this evening.
And we'll keep that slim chance through the overnight as well.
Mostly dry on Monday, but we'll hold
on to that spotty sprinkle chance as well.
Just a 20% chance, especially near our coastline,
slightly higher as we head through early afternoon.
But the plus is we're taking in that refreshing air now
with that northerly to northeasterly wind.
And all the way through this upcoming work week,
dew points in the 50s and the 60s.
So in the pleasant to dry realm, it is going to feel like fall.
We will certainly take it on the Fox 35 Storm Team 7 day.
We're back up close to 80 Tuesday into Wednesday.
Lows staying comfy, so you might want to have a hoodie
or a light jacket ready each and every morning.
We do see a 30% chance of showers,
maybe a rumble as another system moves our way into early next weekend.
