Alright, time now for a check of your weather.
We know these temperatures aren't going to last long,
so hopefully you can get out and enjoy it.
It's going to be warming up later on in the week,
but it won't be too bad, Angie.
It definitely won't. In fact,
if you do want to plan and head out to the Houston Pumpkin Fest,
I'd say it is going to be absolutely gorgeous.
And it's one of those days where you don't necessarily have
to worry too much about your makeup smearing
or your hair getting too frizzy because of all the humidity.
In fact, we have some pretty low humidity that is going to make today
and the rest of the next few days really, really pleasant.
So if you do plan on heading out today,
do keep in mind that this event does run until November 8th.
it's right here in Discovery Green.
Temperatures today will be increasing steadily throughout the
day, but will remain mostly in the middle 70s for most of us.
We could heat up into the higher 70s,
but I think most of us will stay low to mid.
In fact, you can see highs today are expected to stay
about 75 degrees and under for most of the greater Houston area,
and that is unfortunately going to
increase as we move throughout the next week.
But keep in mind there are some wind gusts that
are going to be continuing not as strong as what we saw yesterday
or even the night before but
they're still going to be making
an effect especially towards the coast we do have plenty
of times throughout the day today where we will
have wind gusts over 10 miles an hour in some
spots near Galveston as of right now they already have wind gusts some
of them are reading over 20
miles an hour so you just want to make sure even
though the weather is going to be great in the low
to mid 70s along the coast.
If you do plan on heading into the water, you do want to make sure
that you are being careful.
There is a risk for rip currents until about 7 o'clock this morning.
It is set to expire, but just
because that warning expires doesn't mean the winds won't
be affecting the water anymore.
I do want to say if you do plan on heading out, just make sure you
are careful. And if you are in a rip current,
you want to make sure you don't swim directly against.
you want to swim kind of horizontally
or perpendicular to the the waters coming in
there is currently a pressure system
a low pressure system that we are watching just to
the east coast of the United States that has about
a 30 percent chance of development over the next seven
days but for us here in Houston i think we just need
to worry about the temperatures because they
are absolutely gorgeous over the next several days
if you don't have plans definitely make them
We'll be heating up a little bit towards the rest of the week,
but yes, absolutely beautiful week.
