Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe Bay Area will experience summer-like heat today before a high-pressure ridge breaks down, bringing cooler fall temperatures and a chance of rain starting Sunday. While Northern California expects scattered showers by Tuesday and Wednesday, Southern California is forecasted to receive more significant rainfall to help combat active wildfires.
Live look here over SFO going to be a great day.
If you like the summer type heat,
if you like the fall, well, it's returning tomorrow,
We have something for everybody
this weekend. Temperature is still a little cool in Santa Rosa at 43,
59 and Livermore,
60 degrees in San Jose. Ridge of high pressure slowly breaking down.
Only subtle changes coming
our way today for most but by tomorrow that ridge
is breaking as a result of this system dropping in
and with that going to eventually lead
to the possibility of some rain come sunday temperatures
drop first monday we see an increase in clouds additional cooling
and then on tuesday notice
how it's kind of skirting just down along
the west coast here including just a few showers here
where does it cross over southern california here's
a snapshot of wednesday and it looks
like southern california will get more rain than we
do we'll get a few scattered showers out of it
but southern california needs it right they've got
the red flag warning still in place and they
have the fires burning this is near san clemente
and san juan capistrano where the Norte fire is
burning notice hot dry windy those winds are coming in from the east
and northeast still this
morning then as we get into one o'clock still
a little bit hotter dry that wind still kicking in
second half of the afternoon it shifts
and now coming in from the west and northwest and take
a look at that temperatures
and relative humidity late in the afternoon better than what they're
seeing right now so there's a clear indication
that changes are on the way for them that red
flag warning expires at 8 p.m this evening
for us temperatures are going to range from 76 in
Pacifica to 84 in Hayward to 93 in Antioch.
And if you're headed to the coast to beat the heat,
do be prepared for the beach hazard alert,
increased risk of sneaker waves, rip currents,
large breaking waves along the coastline through the weekend.
Your extended forecast,
there's that significant drop in temperatures on Sunday,
additional cooling on Monday with
scattered showers a possibility as well.
That's it from the Weather Center. More news for you
coming after the break.
