You're watching the Fox 10 weather experts with Ashley Loessa
on Fox 10 news. Hey everyone. I drank some water.
It went down the wrong pipe. Hey folks. Happy Friday.
Beautiful conditions right now. Looks are deceiving though
because you can see our downtown Phoenix camera is moving and shaking.
That is the main headline are those winds. And of course we'll touch
on that in just a bit as we did touch at your first forecast look.
But temperature wise not too bad. Eighty five degrees as you join us
This evening here in Phoenix, 68 in Sedona,
57 out in Flagstaff, 60s out in Globe.
We actually have 90s for our folks further west out
in Bullhead City and Lake Havasu.
Now, here is a look at some of our valley highs that we hit for today.
Not too high, 87 here in Phoenix.
We did have a couple of warmer readings as well,
but right now we have 87.
That was the high that we hit with 89 being the norm.
And overall, the conditions when it comes to visibility,
we have been seeing some improvements for coolage.
We were down to earlier today, down to at least two miles.
But overall, some pretty solid improvements
when it comes to just visibility-wise.
Fox Vision right now, you can see we are still holding
on to these high wind warnings across mainly southeastern Arizona.
And we do have the system that's going
to continue to bring in those high winds.
this coming in from the east that's
also impacting our friends out in southern California. So you can
see for much of SoCal we are under these high warnings.
We're also going to be showing you some
red flag warnings as well. It's dry,
it's hot out there and unfortunately we are seeing the weather
impacting those regions out there.
We're also tracking some moisture that's moving in from the
south. This is remnants from Simon that's going
to continue to track further north. This could
potentially bring us for some parts of the state some moisture.
Here's that red flag warning across
Southern California. For those of you that are looking to travel
or if you have family members
out there, red flag warnings, very dry,
isolated gusts up to 90 miles an hour. That's going to
continue on for the start of this weekend.
Very dangerous conditions out there with those winds
still intact for the rest of tonight here
in Arizona leading into the start of tomorrow. So
winds will be dying down though as we head into Sunday.
Those winds again coming in from the east
But overall, our next weather change will be the remnants
from Simon pushing through because of that low-pressure system that's
also going to be increasing the cloud coverage.
So expect some more cloudy conditions
as we progress into the start of this weekend.
We will have some isolated shots of showers,
this mainly towards the high country along the rim.
Here across the valley, a slight chance
for some moisture that could potentially pass us.
But overall, it looks as though our models are indicating
that a lot of that moisture is going to be pushing further east.
By Sunday night, we'll have some more clearing skies and some drier
potential conditions as we head into the next couple of days.
So just some minor changes that we are tracking
when it comes to the forecast.
For tonight, temperatures will be dropping down into the 70s.
A chilly one for our folks out in Flagstaff at 33 degrees.
50s out in Sedona with tomorrow's temperatures.
We do have 80 degrees, so we're going to be dropping down
because of the cloud coverage and because of some moisture chances
that we could potentially see as we head into the afternoon.
As we head into our 10-day forecast,
we're still holding on to mainly 80s,
and we're going to be on the lookout heading into late next week.
There could be another system
that could drop us down even further into the 70s,
but overnight lows are still going to mainly remain in the 60s.
Oh, wow. Okay.
