Buckeye police need your help tonight solving
an arson case caught on camera.
It happened near Apache and Broadway in mid-August.
Two people here are seen on camera as the flames get going,
but so far no arrests have been made.
Fox's Brian Webb, live tonight with the latest.
Well, police had a pretty good head start on this one,
that security video that shows a couple of suspects.
But all this time later, still no arrests,
and that's why they're asking for help tonight.
An explosion and fire captured on home security video
in a Buckeye driveway the night of August 19th, burning up two trucks
and a car plus parts of the house, followed by a loud banging noise,
a good Samaritan knocking at the front door.
I was like, what's on fire? What are you talking about?
Buckeye police also released the second surveillance video.
You can see what looks like two young men out
in the street after breaking a car window
and throwing in what likely was a Molotov cocktail.
Athena has seen the video dozens of times
and thinks she hears a man's voice speaking
Spanish off camera, but has no idea who they are or why they did it.
Terrifying because they set kids up
to do something dangerous that could have killed
people.
Like it could have killed my kids sleep right here.
My son sleeps in this room like
the glass blew out and it was on his bed.
The fire damage is still clear today on front of the house
and on top of the driveway.
The Buckeye Fire Department quickly ruled it arson
and Buckeye Police took over the
case.
But they admit they've run out of leads and need the public's help.
The footage is blurry, somewhat grainy.
It's hard to tell exactly what we're looking at there.
So we're hoping somebody recognizes the way
these individuals are moving, what they're
wearing and then can provide some helpful information.
For Athena and her family,
the two-month-old crime seems like it happened just yesterday.
They're still dealing with the
damage to the house and their hearts. They're scared.
My kids should not be scared to be in
their own home. We should not be scared to be in our own home.
It's not fair. Buckeye police are
working with Silent Witness on this case.
If you can help, call 480-WITNESS. The family also has a
GoFundMe account set up to help pay for all
the repairs to the home and the cars they lost.
