Hello to you from the Fox Chicago Forecast Center
on a Friday that feels a lot more like
October as we forewarned windy
and cooler plus the showers out there as well and now tonight
we get set for the first frost of the season.
Let's jump in and talk about the weekend forecast
because overall the weekend's not bad.
Sunshine both Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures 50s on
Saturday, 60s on Sunday.
What you don't see here are the frosty mornings.
Both Saturday and Sunday
may feature some frost, but if we may for just a moment,
let's look ahead into next weekend
because as it stands right now,
a lot better as high temperatures return to the 70s, but could
it be the final 70s of the season? Just something to think about.
Our high temperatures today, it was
a struggle to get into the 50s in the afternoon.
Most of these values here actually happening
before the lunch hour today, so a little bit deceptive.
But still, for the first time this
season, we failed to have a temperature at or above average.
So it's our first below average
day of the month. That is average below average day of the month.
First time here in October.
And just remember, it was only a couple of days ago,
Monday, four days ago, we had record highs,
Near 90 in most cases.
And now today, with the wind feeling more like the 40s.
Then tonight, we're going to fall into the 30s.
Freeze warnings in play for our far northwestern most areas
with those temperatures right at the freezing point tonight.
Again, it's going to get cold.
First night this season of seeing that frost.
But then a decent rebound coming for tomorrow.
Less wind, ample sunshine.
And while it's only going to be in the 50s,
I think with the sun and lighter wind,
it should feel pretty decent compared to today.
Radar pictures showed us some showers over
the area to the east as well.
Those showers moving out, and then we're dry for a while to come.
Look at this seven-day forecast.
All kinds of sunshine here throughout the weekend
and the first half of next week.
Partly cloudy sky by Thursday, Friday,
but check out those temperatures well into the 70s.
Don't forget, the Bears have a home game on Thursday.
Not a bad day for some Bears football.
