Well, Anita, the homeowner says the crash was so loud it
was captured on several surveillance cameras.
The family was at home sleeping upstairs
when this vehicle crashed into their garage.
Take a look at this.
This is surveillance video.
They're capturing what may be a critical clue
in the hit-and-run investigation there.
The homeowner says someone in a dark-colored sedan crashed
into his house on August 16th around 4.30 a.m.,
then took off. The impact left more than $60,000 in damage,
according to the homeowner and totaled
the family's 2025 SUV.
Take a listen to how loud it was.
Had the vehicle not been in there,
the car would have driven probably straight
through the house into the family room,
caused some structural damage.
And then with us being upstairs, who knows what could have
happened? It's very frustrating.
You know, with technology the way that is, there's cameras
everywhere i mean people get red light cameras all
the time you know turning red on on a light
i just would have assumed that they would have
been able to find the person that did it
um for that to happen in the middle
of the night you know you feel like you're doing everything
right you keep your doors locked you have
your vehicle safe you protect your family the best
you can and for something like that to happen
um not just the emotional damage but the physical and
the financial it's it's really troubling
so i appreciate you guys picking up the story and
and reaching out.
Bolingbroke police say officers canvassed the neighborhood
and checked flock cameras in the area,
but they could not track a license plate
or the vehicle or the driver.
So they did end up closing this case.
So very frustrating for this family, obviously.
So again, if anyone out there has any information,
call Bolingbroke police right away.
Anita.
Leslie, hate that for the family for sure.
And we want you to go ahead, get out of that rain,
get somewhere dry.
You should know that J.D. said it should only
be like that for about five more minutes, okay?
