We're about to hit playoff territory.
The league is one of the most interesting moments of the whole season,
and I don't trust anyone but you to break down to us
what should we be looking
in the closing moments of the NWSL season.
This is the home stretch.
I think first we've got to get the table up.
We've got to see the table because so far what we know
that both Gotham and San Diego have clinched a playoff spot.
Gotham have gotten that spot at home
which is going to be a massive you know addition and sort
of a safety net for Gotham being
the reigning champs I think that it's going to be super
important that they they're at home they have
that support we know that New York with the work
of Mandomi has been having a really good you know unity
with the community and I think it's
one of the teams that I'm super happy for and I'd love
to see more people being able to actually go
to the games for something like 11 I want to see
but right under them we have Washington Spirit
Utah Royals, Kansas City and finally I hope I'm not jinxing it
but Angel City finally in that
playoff position week after week Camila absolutely you know
the story of ACFC has been in the past
couple seasons if you haven't watched NWSL they
started off really strong they're the most you
know valuable team in the entire league
but haven't made it to the playoffs so far in their history as
a club so this year hopefully is the first where they're able
to do so I think this year you know
There was a lot of uncertainty
with Alyssa Thompson leaving for Chelsea.
But as we can see, the team being led by players like Josel Thompson,
her younger sister, have been doing incredibly well.
Right under them, we have Portland Thorns, not a surprise.
North Carolina Courage with players like Ashley Sanchez,
who just did incredibly well this weekend
when they were with the U.S. national team
But we'll get into that a little bit later.
We're going from the bottom to the top.
Chicago Stars, Racing Louisville, and Bay FC.
teams that we didn't expect them to perform
this season to be protagonists but also Bay FC being a
new franchise we were expecting them to have
a little bit of mojo right Boston Legacy the brand
new team this season they're playing better
a team that started with a lot of red cards but
finally they can find their bearings
and have been maintaining 11 players on the pitch for the 90
minutes which is an improvement for them
but on the other side of an expansion team tale we have
Denver Summit, Denver Summit is a team that started as well this season
and is close to play to play
of contention Orlando Pride that were abysmal
at the beginning of the season again like we said
yo les dije tengan cuidado
because maybe these teams they just needed five six games at the end
of the season to make themselves
in this zone right here definitely Angel City also kind of in that
mix right because especially
with Seattle being just three points away every game matters in the
closing phase of the tournament yeah
but Angel City on the come up right we know that Gotham are
the favorites but they dropped points late right
in a 1-1 draw against Angel City a really good
result for ACFC which are unbeaten in seven games
with Suarez's 91st minute equalizer as the
highlight of this past match Washington
with Trinity Rodman obviously are on fire
We'll
be
right
back.
