Talk of the day: Wingstop unveils Sour Patch Kids wings

Welcome back. Finally, we have our talk of the day. One of the best parts of the 11 o'clock hour. So we all know lemon pepper wings. It's an Atlanta favorite, but Wingstop has taken things in a very different direction. Our Tyler Fingert is joining us now with what they're talking about doing wings and candy. Yeah, certainly you got to keep an open mind on this one. But we know sugar goes well with like a lot of things. I just don't know if this is going to be the right thing. I would definitely try it. So yes, Wingstop is essentially going to be using that Halloween candy, especially since it's Halloween season. You can get Sour Patch Kids pretty much any time, but they're going to kind of do a mashup and bring it together. And it's going to be called, it's essentially a sweet and sour red berry glaze topped with actual pieces of Sour Patch Kids candy. That part is like the part that I feel like I don't need. So you've got the chicken, the sauce, and a little something from the candy aisle all in one bite right there and so Wingstop's president CEO says it sounds unexpected but they insist one bite will win people over i don't know if everyone's going to be for this if you're curious Club Wingstop members actually get early access starting October 23rd and then the flavor actually arrives at participating locations nationwide October 27th and sticks around through November 5th you see the short time frame 27th through the November 5th oh you got to get on it clearly they're not expecting this to be a fan favorite that they're going to put it on the menu permanently um so the real question is this is a halloween treat or is this something that people can you know get down on and enjoy and actually want to go to Wingstop to purchase this i think it's what is that on top of it there's like this white stuff is like parmesan cheese oh geez i hope not because that combination surely not so we have a poll going right now on our website and so i'm interested to see the results for this one no i am too i that's what i need to know so you're you're it sounded like a yes maybe are you a yes maybe i would try it i would certainly try it okay i mean i tried for the first time today that chick-fil-a chicken and waffle was good wasn't it yeah it was good someone over here texted me on my way to work a demanding one and i was like i'm running late and she's like oh i really need this and she demanded it i was like wow my strength for this 11 o'clock hour and it was delicious and truly was okay let's find out what what you guys are saying about it. Ella Talmadge is joining us now. What do you see in Ella? Yeah, so most people are vehemently against this, I have to say. We could take a look at what the poll says. A couple votes for absolutely, a couple votes for one bite, maybe. Most say absolutely not. Don't come near me with that. Let's see what people are saying. um heather service is a frequent flyer in our comment section um and she says this is going to turn into a dare i just know it you know it reminds me she's right of the the fact that they're spinning this like halloween definitely makes me feel like it's a challenge challenge food type thing yeah yeah definitely so definitely i think she's on to something with that for sure yeah but generally people just say nope leave my wings alone i love them separately sour patch kids lemon pepper i i totally agree louise love lemon pepper wings but i mean also keep in mind besides the incredible amount of sugar they're putting on top of your wings there lemon pepper can be a little sour because of the lemon flavor so you get that sour from the sour patch maybe that's what they were thinking when they came up with this uh or they just asked but this sounds good to me because i actually want to try them i didn't see that coming i kind I don't, like, I didn't like the chicken waffle thing. I'm down with this. All right. Have you tried the chicken waffle, though? No. I highly recommend it. That's good. Highly recommend it. You can keep saying that. It's really good.
