AI GeneratedThe discussion centers on the Los Angeles Dodgers' failure to sell out NLCS games and their subsequent sweep by the Milwaukee Brewers. Critics point to exorbitant ticket and parking prices as deterrents for fans, while analysts argue that the Dodgers lacked the fundamental \"small ball\" execution and discipline displayed by the Brewers, who utilized superior pitching and motivation to dominate the series.
We need to talk about the Dodger fans who didn't show up.
Oh, let's talk about it, please.
Well, I would like to say this.
There was no excuse for the Dodgers not to sell out any...
They didn't sell out any of the NLCS games, by the way.
I was at game one of the NLDS.
Parking was $75 then.
It remained $75 throughout the course of the NLCS.
Tickets are ludicrous.
um that is partly i think why uh dodger fans didn't show up
but it's still it's still kind
of embarrassing for a los angeles dodgers team
who listen game three wasn't like oh my god the
series is over like why would we go game three
was a chance for them to get back in the series
and even that one didn't sell out
so i think led the league in attendance this year so it's not
like they're bad fans they're great fans well i will say
for whatever reason i will say this
those numbers are skewed a little bit there are a lot
of empty games i watched a lot of dodger home
games there was a lot of empty seats in the corners
and at the top for a lot of those games
that you know they'll say oh it's
a sellout i'm looking up i'm like there's a camera angle on
freddie freeman in the box there's like wow
there's like entire sections that are empty so i think
they skewed them go ahead john raj posted
a tweet tonight yeah where he was there before the
start of the game and panned the stadium man it was a lot of empty seats
and this wasn't like oh it's
the first inning because in the first inning
in los angeles it's hard to get anywhere whether
that be started Laker games, Rams games, it doesn't
matter they usually show up late but when they
show up they show out and that you got to respect
that but the fact that this image of this many
empty seats it's it they got some explaining
to do now obviously you see different ballparks
the energy in the ballpark gives the players
a little extra something that's what home field
advantage is supposed to be about
but if the fans don't do their part and the players are you know
sucking wind out there it's it's just
a bad look all around it's a bad look for the Dodgers for
running out of gas at this time of the year
when they did it's a bad look for the fan base to not
show up and you know they got swept for a reason Milwaukee
was better Milwaukee I I forgot to say
this in the open but Milwaukee embodies everything
that I love about the game of baseball they just
do um as much as I am a Dodger fan I
am a baseball fan I played the game of baseball through the
Division One level I saw how the game was supposed to be played
and I was taught the game the right
way and the Dodgers didn't play the game
the right way they didn't move runners over when they were
supposed to they didn't play small ball
when the Brewers did the Brewers pitching staff was
phenomenal they knew how to get out
those juggernaut hitters that the dodgers had um and
it's it's a little bit of both it's the dodgers underperforming
and the superstars not showing up
for long periods of time that top five
that vaunted top five that they had wasn't good it
The best players on the roster were, I would say, Tarik Skubal.
He pitched pretty well, even though he didn't win.
And Andy Pause and Kyle Tucker.
Those are their three best players.
Let me argue this.
Styles make fights.
The idea that this roster now is going to play small ball.
I know there are situations, and we talked about this previously,
where you do need to bunt if you got nobody out
and a man on first and second.
You do need to bunt that guy over in these particular situations
where you're in a one- or two-run game.
But this roster, and we got to say this, with these paychecks,
they don't pay these guys to bunt.
They don't.
And so the fact that anybody would think
that they would now switch their style
to match the Brewers' style to combat the scoreboard,
that was never going to happen.
People were expecting for Ohtani to hit the bombs that he hit
in games one, two, and three, and he didn't.
And this is why, by the way, Ohtani,
you don't play if you're hurt, buddy.
No one cares.
No one cares.
I mean, some of the swings that I saw out of this Dodgers team
were some of the worst swings I've seen any hitter take all season.
I'm not even talking about the Dodgers.
I mean, they were swinging at sliders
that were five feet away from them.
It wasn't even close.
And again, I am trying to give Milwaukee credit
because their bullpen absolutely lights out.
Ashby is phenomenal.
That pen that they have is incredible.
and there's a reason why the milwaukee brewers
are advancing to the World Series is because they
played sound baseball defensively
and their staff Padres fans know it too Dodgers fans now get a
taste of it oh yeah they play sound baseball
and i love that not to mention i said this before the
series they had a massive chip on their shoulder Pat Murphy
their manager went into this series
mad angry like i don't want
this to happen again they swept us last year they had that motivation
behind them to where hey we're gonna go in there
and shove it down their throat this year they
return the favor they return the favor
and listen i love my Dodgers they have some decisions to make
