As a manager, as anyone that's participating in the game,
you always wonder, could we have done, could I have done,
could we have done something different
that could have changed the game?
I think there's just, I think at the end of the day, we got beat.
We got outplayed in all facets.
Those guys played flawless.
Defensively, they pitched better than we did.
They hit better than we did.
They slugged more than we did.
And you've got to sometimes just keep your...
Cut off Dave a little bit there.
So that's it.
Dodgers season is over.
The Brewers now can rest and get ready for the World Series.
They will take on either the Tampa Bay Rays
or the Cleveland Guardians in the Fall Classic.
It's amazing that a team gets swept a year ago,
and then a year later they sweep the team that swept them last year.
Yeah, and a Dodger team that presumably was better, right?
Went out there and signed some big-time
free agents and tried to improve.
They called this a super team.
Dodgers were the favorites to win the World Series all season long.
But this Brewers team was a very, very good Brewers team.
They were all season.
They had the best record in baseball.
The big question was, could they do it in the postseason?
Guess what?
We found the answer to that with an exclamation point.
Yes, they can.
So you had Dave Roberts addressing the media.
What else did he have to say?
You know, Dave said, what you say in these situations, right?
He said the Brewers were great.
They played flawless baseball, which is absolutely true.
And he said he talked to his team.
He said he's very proud of his Dodgers, but he said,
I'm not used to these types of speeches.
You know, at least not in recent history,
Dave has not had to address his team and, you know, and console them.
But, you know, that's baseball,
the team that gets hot sometimes at the right time.
And the Brewers were absolutely red hot. They did everything right.
Yeah, they got all the key hits. Yeah. All right.
So what about the future of the Dodgers?
You've got some big names. They started to show a little age this year.
But you've got contracts.
You guys are locked in.
Sure, and that has been the narrative for the last couple of days now
as the Dodgers fell behind in this series.
They started talking about it.
You know, we've heard people saying the dinosaurs,
are these guys dinosaurs, you know, getting up there.
And most of them, a lot of them, middle 30s, upper 30s,
Shohei Ohtani's still just 32.
But they are the oldest team in baseball.
Had they won the World Series again, no one would have cared.
They would have called it experience.
But when you don't win, then you say, well, gee,
you're a little long in the tooth uh Freddie Freeman
was specifically asked about that he
joked he says i i don't feel old i'm not playing great right now
but i don't feel old Freddie said
he wants to play four more years
so you know we'll see how that goes fans have loved Freddie
yeah of course and you know there's a lot
to love about this team it's a great group of guys
super talented guys they just all went
into slumps together yeah you know you just you can't win when
that happens they couldn't score runs well let's see
that was uh two in a row yeah not bad not bad
not bad i mean it's not three in a row like everybody was hoping
but losing stinks but you
know it sometimes it's inevitable if you know
the party's got to end at some point the question
really is can can the Dodgers reload can they you know go
into the offseason which remember it's an
offseason of uncertainty we may see a labor stoppage here yeah
but can they go into free
agency can they reload and can they can they bounce back yeah
a little question what's going
on with ownership too so yeah there's a lot
of questions going into this offseason all right
