Hey, welcome back. She is a musician and an entrepreneur,
but her favorite title is Mom.
Yeah, Erin Duvall is releasing a brand new single,
and it is released tomorrow,
but we're going to get a sneak peek here
on Good Day. Here is In the Flutter.
I
love
this
song,
and
you
can
tell
when
you
sing
it,
this
is
deeply
personal
for
you.
Very personal. That's why I like to write all my own music.
I get to work with really incredible
songwriters out of Nashville, and yes,
Pete Salas, Brian White, and yeah,
this is incredibly personal.
This is about you kind of stepping away from music, I guess,
and focusing on your children.
Yeah, so I took a while away from music. I had four kids. I went
through a divorce a while ago, and then moved back home,
raised the kids, and then music really
kind of pulled me back in.
And this whole, this personal album, so the first one was called One
by One, which was about turning back on my breakers one by one
and becoming myself again.
But I realized that when you go through
transformation, it's almost like a butterfly,
and you may transform into that butterfly
and you're starting to flutter, but you're not quite
fully to the height where you're expected to be yet.
And so I feel like I'm really in that process
right now. You talk about your story and your divorce.
There's a mission that's very important
to you. It's Twice the Love Foundation supporting single parents
and families. There's an annual
charity event coming up. Why is that mission so important to you?
Well, I just realized going
through my own divorce that single parents really don't have
a spotlight on them and they're
everywhere, right? It affects every race, every gender.
I mean, it's everywhere you go. And I just
feel that it's so important to help where you can.
And I was really fortunate. I had a loving place
to land when I came home,
but a lot of these single parents don't have that. So we do our
annual charity event. It's on November 18th
at 18th Performing Arts Center, Stroud Square. Abraham
Alexander, he's an Oscar and Grammy nominated artist.
He's going to play. I'm going to play
before him, and it benefits Genesis Women's Shelter,
who we just love and adore.
A great cause.
They're amazing.
And the other cool note here, you studied
journalism at the University of Texas.
I did.
We're coming back.
In the Flutter, released tomorrow, October 16th.
Erin Duvall, thank you so much.
Thank you so much for having me.
And we'll be back with a final check of the forecast after this.
