Well, we learned more about Jerry Jones during a house tour
on Fox & Friends just a few days after his 84th birthday.
And during the visit, the owner and GM of the Dallas Cowboys
also revealed his thoughts on retirement.
Paige Ellenberger here with a look inside
this house. I can't wait to see it.
It's a good one. Y'all may be wondering what the home of the owner
of the most valuable sports team in the world looks like.
And let's just say the sneak peek we got reveals it is quite lavish.
Take a look. Fox & Friends said move over TMZ on this episode of Cribs.
as the network went inside Jerry Jones' Highland Park home in Dallas.
The first tour stop started in a sitting room
where Steve Doocy and Jerry Jones pointed out a beloved love seat,
a Renoir painting across the room,
and antiques just dripping in gold accents.
Doocy asked if the room was childproof.
As Jones has ten grandchildren, Jerry responded saying,
Absolutely.
Moving into the two-story My Fair Lady-inspired library,
Jones says his wife Jean had dreamed of that space,
so he had constellations painted on its ceiling.
Those stars, by the way, are in the same position as the ones
in the sky in February, which is Gene's birthday month.
Also in the library slash study
are three Lombardi trophies and Super Bowl rings.
Jones says there's room for more.
Jerry, it's been 30 years.
I was talking to my cousin, Mike Ducey,
the sportscaster for Fox here in Dallas.
He was telling me about the defense.
You're worried about your defense.
Well, let's say this.
We changed everything on the defense.
It's not until literally both the team have we had more changes.
We've changed out the personnel dramatically.
We've changed out the coaching staff totally.
We've changed out the schemes involved.
That first year, we won one game.
We're evolving, but it's probably a little more time needed
than I had anticipated when we made these changes this year.
Ducey asked Jones about retirement plans.
Jerry says he has no plans on leaving the Dallas Cowboys,
saying he was talking with former President Bill Clinton the other day
and quoted a Toby Keith song saying, quote,
we are not going to let that old man in.
And another interesting note from the tour, when Jerry bought the team,
Ross Perot called him up with a Norman
Rockwell painting titled The Coin Toss.
It's one of the most famous sports paintings.
Jones says he was too broke to buy it at the time,
but of course he made it work anyway.
Jones says that painting probably appreciated more than
the Cowboys in terms of percentages.
not too bad for a Jerry Jones home tour
when he couldn't afford it at the time i'm sure he's
paid it off by now you know you can afford it
now sometimes you just got to swipe it and then
hope it works out
