Maxpedition Jumbo Novo Modular Urban EDC

The Maxpedition Jumbo Novo Versipack is the foundation for today’s modular urban EDC loadout.

Instead of treating this as one giant bag full of loose gear, I built the Jumbo Novo around a modular system. Each pouch, case, and organizer inside the bag has its own job and can be removed, used, replaced, or transferred into another EDC vessel without having to rebuild the entire loadout.

This particular setup is focused primarily on everyday usefulness with additional preparedness capability. This is not my firearm module or a dedicated bug-out system. The goal was to create a practical daily carry bag with the tools, technology, power, personal items, and supporting gear I could realistically want while I’m away from home.

The Jumbo Novo works particularly well for this approach because its crossbody/shoulder-bag format gives me considerably more capacity than a small EDC pouch while still remaining much more accessible and manageable than a traditional backpack.

Inside I’ve organized the loadout into several individual modules, including compact Maxpedition organizers, tech and power equipment, a hard protective case, and other purpose-built EDC kits. Rather than asking “How much stuff can I fit in this bag?”, I’m looking at the bigger question:

How many useful capabilities can I organize into one practical everyday-carry system?

That’s what modular EDC is about. The bag is the vessel. The individual kits are the modules. And the entire loadout can evolve without having to start over every time one piece of gear changes.

In this video I’ll walk through the Maxpedition Jumbo Novo, show you exactly how I’ve packed mine, break down the individual modules, and explain why each one earned a place in my urban daily-carry system.
