ICON Meme Tool Kit Final Form?!

This ICON meme tool kit has been evolving for the past few months, and this version might be the closest I’ve gotten to its final form.

The goal has always been to see how much legitimate tool capability I can pack into an extremely small case without turning it into a gimmick.

Inside this build I’m carrying a full selection of bits, including hex, security Torx, Phillips, and slotted, along with eight Klein sockets. I’m still using the original ICON ratchet from the first meme kit, the original T-handle extension, plus a Klein extension/bar for the sockets.

I also integrated a compact Nitecore flashlight module, so the kit has some basic illumination capability built into the overall system.

The biggest update this time is the pliers. I designed and 3D printed a small rear-mounted holster/sheath that lets the pliers ride securely on the back of the case. The design keeps the kit relatively flat while also covering the pliers so they slide in and out of a pocket without constantly snagging on everything.

There is still one part I want to improve. The magnet used to retain the extension/socket section hasn’t bonded to the plastic as reliably as I want. On the next iteration, I’m planning to heat the magnet and press it directly into the plastic so it becomes physically seated into the part instead of relying entirely on surface adhesion.

So is this actually the final form? Probably not quite — but this little tool kit is getting ridiculously capable for its size.
