From Knots to Nonstop Energy | Real Dementia Caregiving Moments 💜

When I arrived at Mama’s memory care facility, she was already in her own world. No shoes on, one arm out of her shirt, and the sleeve tied up in tight knots that took me forever to undo.

Mama wasn’t interested in listening — all she wanted to do was walk. And walk. And walk. Then came the furniture moving. Meanwhile, I was sore and drained from the gym… but Mama had enough energy for both of us! 😅

You may wonder why she is like this? Where is the staff? The staff is trying to get all of the residents into the dining hall. Mama was not listening to them at all. LOL She does not care!

After a long day of chasing, untangling, and redirecting, I finally got her to sit down and eat her dinner.

This is the reality of dementia caregiving — unpredictable, exhausting, but filled with perseverance and love. If you’re walking this journey too, know that you’re not alone. 💜
