I Asked My Mom to Play Santa… She Said H€LL NO 😂 | Dementia Christmas Memory

This is an older Christmas memory I still laugh about every time 🤣

I bought Christmas gifts for the staff and residents at my mom’s memory care facility and thought it would be sweet to ask her if she wanted to help pass them out… you know… play Santa 🎅🏾.

Her response?

HELL NO.

No hesitation. No discussion. Just absolutely not.

All I could do was laugh. I’m convinced Mama doesn’t enjoy me sharing my attention with anyone else — dementia or not 😭😂. Moments like this remind me that even in the middle of caregiving, laughter is medicine.
