We Spent a Day in Interlaken, Switzerland

Yesterday, our final full day in the Yungfrau region was spent in the town of Interlaken.

Interlaken is a popular resort town in central Switzerland nestled between the turquoise waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.

It's where many tourists will stay due to its central location to all major activities in the area and is known for being the adventure capital of the area with access to paragliding, skydiving, whitewater rafting and more.

Jenny and I started our day by taking the funicular up to the peak of Harder Kulm, at an elevation of over 1300 meters above sea level, it gave us a great view of the area.

Back down on the ground, we roamed the streets, stopped for lunch, bought our souvenirs and gifts and window shopped for several hours before heading back to Wengen.

We enjoyed our final night by indulging in, what is apparently, the best cheese fondue in town at the restaurant in our hotel.

We did a pretty good job of polishing it off!

Today, it's a 3 hour train ride back to Zurich and a long flight home tomorrow.
