Reacher star Alan Richson quietly filed for divorce from his wife, Catherine, eight months
before the couple publicly announced their split.
According to records obtained by Page Six, Richson filed divorce paperwork in Williamson
County, Tennessee, in December 2025.
However, the couple waited until September 12th to reveal they were going their separate
ways, sharing a joint statement on Instagram.
"'After 20 years together, Kat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside
one another in a different way,' they wrote.
The couple said they grew up together, built a life and family together, and are raising
their three sons, Calum, Eden, and Amory, who they say will always be the center of
our world.
Richson and Catherine also said they still have love and respect for one another, adding
that nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us.
They said they want to give each other room to grow into the people they are becoming,
while focusing on friendship, grace, and becoming the strongest co-parents they can be.
The couple also asked for privacy and compassion, particularly for their children.
Richson and Catherine tied the knot in May 2006 after meeting while doing ballet together
in high school.
During a 2002 Today interview, Richson recalled that Catherine would bring him cookies, saying,
"'Of course I fell in love.'"
In 2021, the couple marked their 15th wedding anniversary with throwback photos from their
wedding.
Richson reflected on the highs and lows they had experienced together, writing that despite
it all, they were still holding hands.
The couple did not publicly acknowledge their 20th wedding anniversary in May.
