Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced the capture of Svyatogorsk in the Donetsk region, despite the city being controlled by the Defense Forces. The problem is that Russian commanders are providing false information at every level. Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the "Achilles" unmanned aerial vehicle battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade, stated this on the "Fabrika Novostey" program.
"At every level, their commanders are telling lies, to put it mildly. And from small lies, big ones reach Putin. As a result, he has a map right before his eyes that shows our rear settlements as those already under occupation. That's how bad things are," he said.
According to the commander, Putin will make future decisions based on this information. "It's good for us that he makes decisions with a margin of error. Because when he makes decisions with a margin of error, we gain a tactical advantage. But what's the downside for us? He thinks he's succeeding based on the information he's given. And he's, as they say, convinced himself that he's succeeding. Although that's not true. So the situation is twofold," Fedorenko explained. He also added that such statements about alleged "achievements" on the front are intended exclusively for domestic consumers in the Russian Federation. As reported, on September 1, during a press conference in Bishkek, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russian troops had allegedly taken control of Svyatogorsk and were advancing toward Oskol.
Later, Brigadier General Andrei Biletsky, commander of the Third Army Corps, walked through the center of Svyatogorsk in the Donetsk region and refuted the dictator's claims about the alleged capture of the city.
Beletsky showed the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra, the "Monument by the outstanding sculptor I. P. Kavaleridze", and civilians strolling calmly through the city.
The commander addressed Russia's military-political leadership and refuted Putin's claim that the city had been occupied. He stated that the city was under the absolute control of the corps' 60th Mechanized Brigade and was effectively its rear area.
