This Is EXACTLY What Wild Fans Needed to Hear...
Sep 10, 2026
Quinn Hughes and Jack Hughes have spoken out for the first time surrounding the upcoming extension to Quinn Hughes with this wild team, as there's been conversations about both playing on the same team eventually.
With two of these guys speaking out, there is a lot to take in, and with consideration coming from Bill Guerin on what is next, there is a lot to take in, folks.
We're going to be breaking it all down here in this video, going over what each of these guys said, what was silently revealed in today's conversation, and what is next to come from Quinn Hughes.
Like I said, we're going to be breaking it all down here in this video.
Before we do get into it, though, folks, if you haven't already, be sure to drop a sub on the channel.
We're getting videos out here every single day with the season just around the corner.
You will not want to miss it.
Let's help us get to our goal of 6,000 subscribers.
Do me a favor by hitting that subscribe button.
I'll do you a favor by giving you all of your wild news as it passes.
I want to get straight into it.
I want to talk about what Jack Hughes said first because he spoke out a lot earlier today with Quinn Hughes only speaking out about an hour or so ago at this point.
Jack Hughes had a lot to say.
He started off with this.
I think people think we're just at home all day just talking about it.
We're not.
We're enjoying the summer.
That's what summer's for.
Go get away from it and enjoy yourself.
So Jack Hughes kind of responded to a lot of questions as if the brothers were talking about what the plan is going to be for this next season.
And I think a lot of people thought that was exactly the case, that all it was was conversations between Jack, Luke, and Quinn surrounding the future of Quinn.
But that was not the case.
They've certainly spoken about it, but Jack said it's just not at all what this family has been doing.
They want to relax.
They want to enjoy it, especially after probably one of the busiest times of their lives, let alone careers with the Olympics, all of that playing through.
And especially for Quinn when going to the Olympics, getting traded, all of that.
And they want to take some time to just relax and enjoy it.
But Jack did speak about Quinn himself.
He said, yeah, I think that we've always wanted to play with each other.
Winning in Milan was an unbelievable feat that we could do together.
But I don't think he's going to sacrifice what's best for him for us to play together.
I mean, we'll see.
We'll see what he does.
Jack made a pretty prominent point here that Quinn's just not going to leave wherever to go play with his brother.
He's not going to do that.
He wants to make sure the best opportunity is there for him and the rest of his family as well.
But keep in mind, these guys are very young.
I really do not think that whatever Quinn does on this contract will have an impact on if they play together or not in their careers.
Because keep in mind, Quinn is 26.
Let's theoretically say he signs an eight-year deal, which probably will not happen.
He'll be 32.
He will be 32 years old, and all of his other brothers will be younger.
There is still lots of time for them to play together, especially considering Olympic teams and international games.
So like Jack Hughes said, an incredible feat.
He's not going to go sacrifice what he has right now for that to happen.
And when being asked, and there's a lot of conversation going about the Kachuk brothers,
then this is what Jack Hughes said if they were kind of envious of them being able to play together.
No, not at all, because there's so much that goes into play, right?
Brady's making 8.1.
I mean, that's a much easier contract to move.
Me and Luke are playing together.
Matthew and Brady are now playing together.
It's much easier for two brothers to play together than three.
And then on top of that, Quinn is one of the best players in the league and has a huge deal that's going to be coming.
And yeah, I'm happy for Matthew and Brady because I know how much fun they'll have together.
I get to do that with Luke.
I'm excited.
So once again, Jack Hughes kind of saying this is likely not going to happen.
So this is all some very positive signs from one third of the Hughes brother trio.
But with all of this being said, this is still not coming from Quinn.
It's coming from a source about as close as we can get to Quinn Hughes.
But Quinn said himself a few different things.
All kind of playing together with this, which is going to give us a very good idea as to what's happening over the next couple of days.
And these right here, these tweets come from Mark Lazarus summing up what Quinn said.
And we do have a big quote from Quinn Hughes just in a second that really puts all of this together.
But kind of a little rundown of this.
Quinn Hughes says he doesn't feel backed up against a wall where, you know, I had to sign before camp.
Doesn't worry about his hanging over his head during the season either.
Said he loves it in Minnesota.
And the organization has nothing it needs to prove.
So this is a very good sign because there was a lot of theories that that was the case.
The wild needs to get better.
The wild needs the number one center.
They needed to make sure that, you know, this and this and this was ready to go before Quinn felt comfortable.
All of that was just true.
That was not true according to what we're looking at here from Quinn Hughes himself.
So this is a very positive sign.
Although this is kind of a little rundown of it, this is exactly what Quinn Hughes had to say about all of it.
This is going to be done whenever I feel like it needs to be done.
I don't feel backed up against the wall.
I'm very thoughtful.
I want to make sure I'm taking my time on everything and make sure I'm making decisions that is going to be good for everyone.
That's kind of where my head is at.
We, you know, we haven't had that many conversations just because of how I wanted my summer to go in terms of being fresh and rest, you know, resetting, excuse me, and enjoying and training and being around friends and family.
As we got going here, I'm sure it'll heat up.
I don't feel backed up against the wall where I have to sign before camp.
So nothing to worry about because like Quinn said, he's going to get it done when he feels like it.
Conversations obviously start ramping up when people and players do get back to wherever their team is playing and training camp.
And we saw it last year with Baroque Caprisa.
He is not going to, you know, ruin a summer of negotiations that in a time when you need rest and you want to just enjoy what you're doing, that's not going to be taken up by business.
And obviously, I think that if anybody else were in the shoes here, that would be the exact same scenario.
And when you talk about that, Quinn also did go on and said this about John Hines and Bill Guerin and his teammates, particularly Brock Faber as a massive draw for him.
Didn't want to get into specifics about negotiations or whether term was a sticking point.
And on top of that as well, you see this right here.
He wouldn't talk about term or contract.
He said that between him and Guerin, he said he likes it in Minnesota, believes the Wild can do things this season, some big things.
He says the Wild have nothing to show or prove to him easily.
So, some very good updates here.
This one from Dan Rosen about Quinn Hughes, really his decision-making.
And once again, we're not going to know anything until it actually happens.
The contract is not going to come out.
Quinn Hughes was silent about it.
But I feel like when you have a guy like Brock Faber, who could be your winemate forever pretty much.
You have a guy like John Hines, who is a very good coach.
Bill Guerin, who trusts you enough to trade pretty much the biggest package the Vancouver Canucks probably could have gotten for Quinn Hughes.
We know we appreciate that.
I feel like this is something that hopefully will stick around in his mind.
And it seems like it is throughout these conversations that Quinn Hughes had today.
And I want to pull up this as well.
This one here is from Dan Rosen.
A very big thing.
It makes a lot of sense.
He said it was important to unwind the summer after a heavy 16 to 18 months.
The situation with the Canucks, trade, the Olympics, etc.
But he knows it's time to get cracking.
A summer was deserved for Quinn Hughes.
I think that was the bottom line.
And right now, it's time to get things going.
As Quinn Hughes knows.
Folks, if you want to stay up to date with all of this news, be sure to hit the subscribe button.
And let me know what you think about everything that was in here today in these conversations in Vegas.
Between Quinn, between Jack, and what you think the plan should be.
But I got to say, there's one thing that seems to be confirmed at this point.
And it's that Quinn Hughes likes it in Minnesota.
Jack also said it's not guaranteed that anything happens.
But he thinks that you're not going to sacrifice something massive that could be on the table to go into a different position.
They have time to play on the Olympic team.
They have time to play international.
They have time to relax over the summer.
And I think that when it comes to an NHL season, a big contract, Quinn is going to do what is good for him and Quinn.
So, folks, give me your thoughts down below on all of this.
That is all I have here on this one.
