AI GeneratedThe Minnesota Vikings enter Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts with a healthy offense, aiming to protect their 5-0 record. While the team looks to balance its success between a dominant defense and a returning offensive core, internal tensions regarding Juwan Jennings' role and potential trade opportunities remain a key storyline.
What he just said will have Vikings fans
believing again in what we expected to see
out of Juwan Jennings when he was first brought
to Minnesota in the offseason this summer
despite some heavy trade rumors swirling around him.
But first, the team's final week 7 injury
report has fans absolutely ecstatic for Sunday
as we are going to see some offensive fireworks,
hopefully in a big game against the Colts
at home.
We're going to break it down all
of that in this episode of Vikings Digest and if you're

Vikings, make sure to hit that subscribe button
and the bell icon so you don't miss any of
the episodes when they drop.
With that let's hop right into the first topic of the day
which is a finally healthy offense as we saw in the injury report today
that was released earlier in the day after the practice where we saw
that every single Vikings player was a practice except
for Christian Darrisaw who was a DNP because it was a rest day
for him as per usual with these veterans and then as well as Harrison
Smith getting a limited practice because he's also a veteran.
and then everyone being a full practice status otherwise
with Jordan Mason being a questionable tag
for Sunday as Kevin O'Connell said
where he is still working in his 21-day practice window.
But when you look at the other injuries
that are on there that are fully cleared,
you're going to have Justin Jefferson on the field,
Brian O'Neill, Jordan Addison, Christian Darrisaw,
Chuck Demings is finally going to get back on the field,
TJ Hockenson, Jordan Mason, James Pierre, and of course Harrison Smith.
But it is going to be huge for the Vikings
as we have only seen this full offense play together
for nine snaps throughout the entire season,
where you had Kyler Murray, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison,
TJ Hockenson, Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason, all those guys,
plus the guys on the offensive line,
and they are absolutely going to need it
because this is going to be a very big test,
actually the start of a very big test over the next couple of weeks
as far as containing some really compelling
and very explosive running backs
throughout the next couple of games, where you have Jonathan Taylor,
like Bijan Robinson, Christian McCaffrey,
Josh Jacobs, and so many more
that are going to try and make their Vikings defense a living hell.
So now it's going to fall on the offense
that are hopefully going to put up a lot of points
because if Jonathan Taylor goes absolutely crazy on Sunday,
Minnesota's offense better hope that they can put up a lot of points
so that does not become a problem like it has
a little bit earlier on in the season
where we needed the defense to kind of win those games for us
coming off of a double-digit win against the Saints.
Hopefully it goes to show that this offense
is starting to get really rolling
and have a lot of momentum where the defense isn't going
to have to win us every single game there's
going to be some games where the offense can win it
for us where the defense will play their job
lights out but as far as limiting teams
to under 20 points every single week that is not a realistic
expectation to have even though minnesota's defense
is doing a great job of it it's going to happen at
some point where the defense is going to give up 25 30 points
and it's going to be on the offense
and all the weapons that they have to be able
to make sure they can keep the team in the game
and make sure that the opposing team is not getting within reach
despite putting up a lot of points.
I'm not saying we have to get into absolute boat races
like the Detroit Lions or the Buffalo Bills are getting into.
Our defense is obviously way better than theirs are.
Their defenses are absolute trash.
But with Minnesota's defense just absolutely rolling
and this offense getting better every single week,
it's an advantageous spot to be in at 5-0.
But we're going to be going up against a Colts team
that I'm very worried is going to be a trap game
because they're coming off of a very bad loss to the Titans.
They're going to want to bounce back.
They just fired Chris Ballard, their GM of the past decade.
They're going to want to bounce back after
that to kind of start and wipe the slate clean
and try and move into a new era of the Indianapolis Colts.
And what better way for them to do that is to try
and take down an undefeated team in
the Minnesota Vikings.
And of course, we're all really worried about
that curse from 2016 where they started off
5-0, had a weak 6-5, and then went 3-8 the rest of the way.
If they can get a win against the Colts,
that is at least a very good step in the right
direction to show that this is going
to be very different than it was 10 years ago obviously an
entirely new different team
but still the same curse in the anniversary of that season is what
gives me a lot of worries but seeing
this offense fully healthy back on the field even though Aaron
Jones is dealing with MCL sprain that he's
been powering through for the last couple of weeks
absolute badass warrior
but with this offense finally getting fully healthy otherwise it is
going to be great to see all these weapons just running around
the field at the same time and
hopefully we just see an absolute blowout
on sunday afternoon where the colts are not going
to have tyler warren they're not going
to have sauce gardener they have a whole other laundry
list of injuries and questionable tags where
minnesota can hopefully take advantage of it
and just go full stop on this team
so it's going to be very interesting to see and justin jefferson
was also talking about how exciting it is to have
this full offense out on the field saying that i'm
definitely looking forward to it just
so much talent out there on the field and expectations
from the whole entire offense we haven't even been 100% yet
but still understanding what's right
there in front of us understanding
when we get everybody back out there on that field it should
be even more expectations
and better execution than what we've already gotten before and it's
all going to be coming off of the heels
of DJ Dallas being released as well which could open
up the door for Jordan Mason
to be activated just before Sunday's game as we know that with him
getting out there on that offense he's going
to be a very big part of trying to get this offense
going and getting into a early lead in the game
so they can play from ahead and not have to worry
about trying to make every single play matter
and trying to just convert every single thing we can
play a little bit relaxed but not completely
careless obviously you don't want to put them
in a position where they can get back into the game
but if Minnesota can get out in front to
about a 10 point lead at halftime I will feel very comfortable
as far as the rest of the game goes
but of course it's the Minnesota Vikings it's
obviously any given Sunday as well so it could
be very interesting how it boils down on that game
but again be aware of the trap game but hopefully
it is not going to be the case and Minnesota can
just absolutely blow the Colts out of US Bank
Stadium but let us know your guys's thoughts down
in the comments below that's going to take us into
the second topic of the day which is that Jetta's addresses
the Juwan Jennings frustrations because
in his press conference the other day he was asked about
the whole Juwan Jennings situation because
of the whole frustration that we saw on the sideline
and Jefferson had a really good quote
about it going into a couple different things saying sometimes
that can happen it was pretty
pretty obvious he was getting
a little frustrated you guys talk about all sorts of where his role
and his offense is and Juwan has been doing great
for us everybody sees what he's doing in the
blocking game they don't really see the amount
of routes that he's getting open on and the different
plays that he could be making
so it's just really not getting into his hands at this point in time
which is okay it's fine
because he did kind of clear that up saying obviously he's going to be
frustrated because he wants to get
the ball he feels like he's worked that route or that moment
to get the ball and creating separation
that's every player that's every guy that wants to have
a big moment and a big role in the game
but he did have a lot of confidence at the end of it
saying that the ball is just not finding him at this moment
but it will and once it will
then we're going to see Juwan smiling on that sideline
and everybody's going to be pumped to
see him in that end zone or to see him have that big play
and what I love about this is that
Jefferson knows hey his time is coming it's just going
to be a matter of Kyler getting more involved
for this offense so you also got to remember
that Kyler is still getting familiar with trying to
operate this Vikings offense the best that it can
so he's been establishing the connections as he's
kind of been going on we saw in that Miami game
he didn't have Justin Jefferson boom formed the
connection with T.J. Hockenson he didn't have
Justin Jefferson in the Tampa Bay Bucs game
boom formed the connection with Jordan Addison
so we saw that in the New Orleans Saints game
first full game where he played
with Justin Jefferson built on that connection and just
went off to the races right away
so now it's going to be a matter of getting on the same
page with Juwan Jennings we know Jennings is getting open
and running a lot of routes just
that Kyler going through his progressions going
through all right number one receiver my safety
valve tight end sometimes wide receiver two doesn't
necessarily give you a lot of time to look at that
third wide receiver option if you know that hey I got
to kind of go with what I know in this scenario
and go with the receivers that I fully trust
but I think that as the season is going on and as it
progresses we're going to see Juwan Jennings get
a lot more involved and hopefully get the ball a
lot more because we know that he can be a threat on this team
and we were hoping that we were going to
see a lot more out of him by this point
because we were all so excited when he came to Minnesota
when he came to Minnesota we all thought
immediately we got the best wide receiver
trio in the NFL it's especially one of the best duos
but adding him into that adds that necessary
depth to have three absolute dogs where a lot of teams only have two
but as we've seen this season
it hasn't necessarily been the case
and it's led to a lot of trade rumors as Fox Sports recently
had an article put out where they're talking about
trade deadline candidates that every team
could be kind of looking at when it got
to the Vikings it was talking about Juwan Jennings as
far as what the article was saying he said there's already
been buzz about him getting traded given
that he's putting together cryptic social media posts Jennings
is in a good shape is good in
the Shanahan system which makes him appealing
to the greater NFL given the system's popularity
and the Vikings appear set at wide receiver
with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Ty Felton
And Ty Felton has shown up in certain moments this season, but again,
he's not as trustworthy as a guy who's established like Juwan Jennings
is. But with the 49ers being in the situation they're in with all
the wide receiver injuries, you can't help but wonder if John Lynch
is going to be calling up Nolan Teasley with a really good offer as far
as draft picks to try and take Juwan Jennings back into San Francisco
to try and figure out what they can do to get healthier there
and to give Minnesota some ammunition where they can either
flip it before the trade deadline or use it for the draft call
coming up I think it's going to be very interesting to see
because this game against the Colts is
going to be very telling as far as how Juwan Jennings
is involved if Odell Beckham Jr. is
going to get involved at any point
and if Ty Felton continues to be a little bit more of an impactful
player this year than he was last year it might kind
of have the writing be on the wall as far
as what Juwan Jennings fate is going to be in Minnesota
for the good or the better as far as
him staying or going it's going to be very interesting
and a lot of things to watch for
in this Vikings game against the Colts on top
of all the regular storylines and just wanting to
see Minnesota win it's going to be very interesting
to see how Juwan Jennings is utilized as far as
all right are they giving the ball
or at least targets if they're not maybe that is going to
be a sign that he is on his way out of Minnesota before
the trade deadline let us know down in the
comments below if you think Juwan Jennings will
be traded before the NFL trade deadline and if
you think that this Vikings offense
when fully healthy is finally going to put up a big offensive
showcase even bigger than we saw two weeks ago against
the New Orleans Saints in week five let
us know down in the comments below is that's going
to do it for this episode of Vikings Digest
