This is huge for the Bengals
because Baltimore just got hit with some major injury news and it
could completely change the way that this game plays out on Sunday.
We're diving into all of
it all the way from quarterback to the defensive side for the Ravens
and the Bengals looking at
the injury news ahead of Sunday's game against Baltimore.
Thank you guys for joining us here
today on Bengals Digest. I'm your host Adam Ianni.

we dive in today talking about the first bit
of injury news Tavius Robinson is out for the season
for the Ravens so they're suffering some losses here in this one
and you know it's one of those
things where it's a strange thing
when you get older right you know it gets a little bit harder
to recover. You notice your energy, your focus,
and your drive really just are not what they used
to be. And it's a decline that's
so gradual that you really don't even notice it until it's too
late. And that is exactly where our sponsor of today's video,
Mars Men, comes in. Mars Men uses
clinically dosed ingredients like vitamin D, zinc,
boron, and a few others to naturally support
testosterone, energy, and stamina.
And I've noticed that it really helps when I'm in the gym,
helps with my recovery.
And I love that it provides that steady support without feeling
like a temporary caffeine boost.

does help out the channel a ton
so getting on back into the injury news in losing outside linebacker
Tavius Robinson with a pectoral injury for the season
and safety Jalen Hawkins with a knee injury
out for a few games the Ravens will be without two guys
who are fifth and seventh in their most
defensive snaps played so losing some big key players there Robinson
also is the sack leader
with three and a half
so some players got to step up in their place per Jesse Minter
uh Tavius Robinson season ending injury
and he hurt his pec muscle Sunday Zion Young will be
expected to step up Jalen Hawkins has been ruled out
so Zion Young is someone we kind of
covered in the offseason a little bit talking about draft talks
and everything so the rookie's
gonna have to step up in his absence
and hopefully the Bengals can take advantage of that in terms of
the scouting report strengths three
and a half sacks put him along among the league's top pass
rushers um and you know his he has a forced fumble
on the season as well but this injury you know does
remove him as a contributor from this front seven
so that's that's Robinson and then Jalen Hawkins
is also going to miss this game, like I talked about,
according to their injury report.
According to Jesse Mentor, he is out this week.
Now, getting into some other practice absences,
Lamar Jackson was in uniform at practice for
the second straight day,
but it's tough to evaluate how his ankle feels.
Not a lot of dynamic movement.
Tavius Robinson, Jalen Hawkins, Calais Campbell,
and Ronnie Stanley all missing at practice.
seems unlikely Robinson
and Hawkins will play Sunday versus Cincinnati and looking at Jalen
Hawkins 30 tackles on the year definitely
a solid safety definitely a piece that they are going to
be missing and hopefully the Bengals can target
that on that defense now as mentioned Lamar Jackson
still has not committed to Sunday his status
is still unclear at the moment according to Jeff
uh Z Rabiek he said Lamar is headed in the right direction
but he can't tell whether he'll be ready
sunday called it a very painful sprain
so even if he does end up playing that's going to limit his
mobility a ton jackson said he doesn't need
to be a hundred percent to play but he can't be a statue
out there said he's trying to play through his injuries
when he was a bit healthy last year
was dumb a little bit so it sounds like he
is trending toward not playing which of course means
that Tyler Huntley would be in the place for him
and he's not a bad quarterback but I think that
the Bengals can definitely target
his weaknesses more than they have with Lamar Jackson you look
at his stats over four games this season he's looking
to have a pretty good year if it weren't
for that injury now moving on to the Bengals side
of things their injury report looks very good
It looks a lot better than it has in weeks past.
So quick rundown of their injury report.
Kyle Duggar was a full participant in Friday's practice.
No game status set yet.
BJ Hill was limited.
He was just limited for rest.
Jonathan Allen did not participate, but it was also related to rest.
So no Bengals player carries
an injury designation set as out for Sunday.
So it seems like these full participants,
a couple of them sitting out with rest,
they definitely can take advantage of that coming off
the bye definitely great that they got it out
of the way early we're able to rest up hopefully
that doesn't cause some question marks down the
season but looking at the Ravens injury report it's a lot more lengthy
and five times more
lengthy technically considering
the Bengals don't have any Lamar Jackson questionable Jalen Hawkins
Tavius Robinson, TJ Tampa, and Broderick Washington,
all questionable, doubtful, or out
for this game. So the Bengals are looking good
in terms of the advantage that they have off the
injury report. So they don't have anyone
with an injury designation for Sunday. And I really think
that Joe Burrow can look to attack this hurt defense specifically.
I mean, we can talk about
Lamar all day and I'm sure we will before Sunday
but I think Burrow has a very good opportunity
to really boost that completion percentage
and really get some more stats padded up in this game
and what is still going to be a very good game against
a very good team even though they are
hurt so what do you guys think matters most
for Cincinnati on Sunday do you think that attacking
a depleted Ravens defense or making Lamar Jackson
prove he can move I personally think considering
Lamar is questionable,
I'm going to go with A. I think that they need to attack this depleted
Ravens defense, figure out specifically the run game.
You got to get the run game going. You got
to get them worn down on that defensive side.
And commenter Ron Schilling, subscriber who's always
in there, he said, we need a running game.
We want this team to compete during the playoffs.
Team just looks different when they can run the ball.
Completely agree with that. Running the
ball keeps our defense fresh and it lowers the hits on burrow
so looking at burrow and how he's
played up to this point
in the season he's done well he's stayed healthy but they need to keep
him healthy and i think that running the ball i agree can
do that they need to be able to optimize
their run game to be able
to beat down you know worn down defenses like this and for the lengthy
games for tougher games i definitely think
that this is something that they can attack and use
as a weak point in their scheming, which I'm sure they have.
Baltimore's offense definitely
is going to look a lot different without Lamar Jackson.
We are a little bit familiar with Tyler
Huntley, but you know, just following around the league,
we've watched what he can do. We can see
it. In terms of expecting Sunday's quarterback decision
to be a game time decision, which is
what it looks like it's going to be,
he said he's just got to be ready to play Sunday if that is
the case and so looking at the scouting report for him 143 yards
and three touchdowns so
far hasn't thrown a pick yet
and just in terms of his stats altogether there you can also see
64 rushing yards so he is a little bit mobile
as well a very similar player I wouldn't put him at
the caliber that Lamar Jackson is so you can take advantage
in that scheme but in terms of a player
who is still mobile Tyler Huntley does have some legs
and he can he can attack you in that way so
who would worry Cincinnati more
do you think Lamar Jackson playing hurt would worry them
or Tyler Huntley starting i'm very curious
on this one what you guys think would you rather
them play Lamar hurt or Tyler Huntley starting
because you're getting a healthy player on one
hand who hasn't looked too bad hasn't thrown
a pick up to this point can also hurt you with his
legs or Lamar who's a better quarterback overall
but is going to be more limited in mobility and
you know maybe some torque on the throw personally I don't want
to see anyone get more hurt regardless
a divisional opponent
or not so I would say probably if I was the Ravens I would err on
the side of caution and let Tyler Huntley start
in this one I think the Bengals defense has proved
that they are still exploitable in some areas I think
that the injuries definitely helped them
out in this case and they can look to uh really really have
a better game in this one and maybe
take advantage of those injuries that the Ravens are suffering
so let me know what you guys think
down in the comments below and thank you guys
