Russian occupiers suffered defeat on several fronts: ISW revealed the situation at the front

Defense Forces of Ukrainerepelled a series of attacks by Russian troops, who had been attempting to advance on several sectors of the front over the past several days, according to a report by the Institute for the Study of War.

According to available data, on September 4–5, the occupiers carried out limited offensive actions in the north of the Sumy region , but no confirmed advances were recorded there.

At the same time, as a source associated with the Russian Northern Group of Forces notes, Ukrainian units, on the contrary, are advancing along the railway between Taratutine and Ryasne – southeast of Sumy. A similar picture is emerging in the Kharkiv region : the enemy also attacked near Velykyi Burluk, but was unsuccessful. Moreover, according to one Russian source, Ukrainian fighters are counterattacking and recapturing previously lost positions near Hoptivka and Kudiivka.

At the same time, pro-Russian mibloggers are spreading unverified information about the alleged encirclement of Ukrainian forces between the Vovchansk and Velykoburluk directions – no evidence has been provided for this.

In the Kupyansk direction, the occupiers also attempted to advance on September 4–5, but, as analysts write, they did not achieve any confirmed territorial successes.

A similar situation is occurring in the Slovyansk direction : attacks continued, but no enemy advance was detected. A source associated with the "Zapad" group reported Ukrainian counterattacks near Drobyshevo, northeast of Slovyansk, and east of Svyatogorsk.

Analysts also examined the high-profile claim about the alleged capture of Svyatogorsk. On September 5, a video appeared online that purported to confirm this, but it turned out to be an old recording with a new voiceover and a removed watermark. Later, the Russian blogger himself admitted that there was no real evidence of control over the city, and the nearest occupier positions were approximately 10 kilometers away.

According to the Institute, the Russian Ministry of Defense's statement about the capture of Kurtovka, northwest of Konstantinovka , was also not confirmed: the nearest confirmed Russian positions there are 10 kilometers from the village.

In Donbas, Russian forces have generally limited themselves to localized offensive attempts, which have also failed to produce results during this period. Meanwhile, Ukrainian units continue to carry out medium-range strikes against the occupying forces' military targets in the occupied part of Donetsk Oblast.
