Soldiers from the 23rd Assault Regiment of the RUG of the 2nd Corps of the National Guard "Charter" continue to liberate territory north of Kupyansk. The assault troops have cleared another 2 square kilometers of forested area west of Dvurechnaya. As reported, assault troops from the 23rd Separate Assault Regiment of the Charter Corps' RUG continue to advance through the forested area west of Dvurechnaya in the Kupyansky District. Recently, fighters have cleared another 2 square kilometers of forest, driving the enemy from fortified strongholds. Objective monitoring footage from drones and RUG head-mounted cameras captures the results of the assault teams' work: enemy attempts to consolidate or counterattack were brutally thwarted, positions were cleared, and enemy trophies and documents were collected.
"The fighters are not stopping and are advancing deeper into the forest, leaving no one behind. This is a continuation of the operation in which the unit previously liberated 7.5 square kilometers of forested areas west of Dvurechnaya and established control over the northern part of the village of Zapadnoye," explained Charter.
"Step by step. Position by position. We are liberating Ukrainian soil from the enemy. The Charter Corps has been defending the Kharkiv region since 2022: from defending Kharkiv and reaching the state border to containing a second Russian offensive in 2024 near Vovchansk and Liptsy—in two years, the enemy hasn't come a single meter closer to Kharkiv," the Charter Corps commented. In 2025–2026, the Charter Corps, in particular RUG fighters, participated in the liberation of territories north of Kupyansk and in the cleansing of Kupyansk itself. Spokesman for the Joint Forces Group, Viktor Tregubov sai that defense forces have complicated Russian logistics on the western bank of the Oskol. "In the Kupyansk direction, our troops have reduced the Russian foothold on the western bank of the Oskol River; they've pushed them back. They've made this foothold quite narrow, which has complicated any attempts by the Russians to move troops directly into Kupyansk, because now they have to move along a very narrow strip. "Of course, everything is under fire," Tregubov said.
He also reported on the situation on the other side of the river: "On the other side, the Russians are trying to advance toward Kupyansk-Uzlovaya through the center of the Ukrainian bridgehead east of the Oskol River. There are certain logistical problems there, already on our side. Russians are positioned on all sides of this bridgehead. The logistics here are being targeted by hostile UAVs."
According to Tergubov, no significant changes are taking place in the Velikoburluk direction. "Regarding Velykyi Burluk, everything there is quite stable. The only thing that has changed there recently is a few places where the Ukrainians have reduced the area of the Russian invasion there. But the Russians also advanced from the direction of Artelny, a little further west, and occupied a forest belt in the near border zone," the representative added.
