SONO House is a 2,300-square-foot retreat by Atelier Carle that demonstrates how architecture can coexist harmoniously with its natural surroundings. Designed for two friends to share while maintaining privacy, the home uses a sequence of interconnected volumes, sculptural concrete walls, and an exposed timber structure to create a balance between openness and seclusion. Carefully positioned on the existing bedrock with minimal site disturbance, the house embraces natural light, panoramic forest views, and outdoor terraces, offering an inspiring example of thoughtful residential design that prioritizes experience, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to the landscape.
