This House Was Built Around the Forest, Not Against It

Casa Ouro Velho is a modern retreat built on a steep slope in Nova Lima, Brazil. Instead of changing the landscape, the house follows the terrain, protects native trees, and opens toward the surrounding mountains.

With smart levels, natural light, shaded façades, and a dramatic butterfly roof, this home shows how contemporary architecture can live beautifully within nature.
