Atelier C, designed by Nicholas Francoeur in 2022, is a 3,448-square-foot residence in Eastman, Canada, that combines contemporary architecture with a strong connection to its woodland surroundings. Defined by a sloping roof, charred cedar cladding, bright aspen interiors, and carefully positioned windows, the house balances climate-responsive design with natural light and spatial variety. Its flexible single-story layout includes four specialized studios for writing, photography, music, and fabrication, integrating creative work into everyday living. With varied ceiling heights, a distinctive bathing area, and LEED Platinum certification, Atelier C demonstrates how thoughtful architectural planning can support sustainability, creativity, and comfortable modern living.
