Ukrainian attacks on the logistics infrastructure of Russia's largest marketplace, Wildberries, could have economic consequences for Russia as severe as those against oil refineries, according to the British publication The Sun.
The publication reports that in recent days, Ukrainian drones have damaged or destroyed several Wildberries logistics complexes in various regions of Russia. The publication notes that these attacks not only damaged a single large company but also disrupted the operations of a significant portion of Russian small businesses that rely on the marketplace, and created problems for everyday commerce throughout Russia.
Experts interviewed by the publication believe that the new tactics have not only a military but also a psychological effect. "The Ukrainians have achieved extraordinary and unexpected success, and this is slowly, step by step, undermining support for the regime," noted British expert Mark Galeotti.
Analyst Natia Seskuria, quoted by the publication, called this campaign a new stage in Ukraine's strategy. She estimates that attacks on logistics centers could significantly impact the lives of ordinary Russians.
"This is a very smart strategy on Ukraine's part... it will have a significant impact on Russian households," she said.
