The Chrises are reunited, and it feels so good.
We'll see.
That's Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth
back in action for the brand new Star
Pack trailer for Avengers Doomsday.
I see you, Channing Tatum.
The mega movie doesn't hit theaters until December,
but the reactions online are already mixed.
Chalk it up to superhero fatigue.
While one fan tweeted, I lived long enough
to see X-Men fighting the Avengers on the big screen.
Man, I could shed a tear.
Many thought the plot seemed confusing,
and the special effects looked like AI slop.
One ex-user even called it chat-cheapy-tea the movie.
Savage.
The biggest takeaway?
It's the film debut of Robert Downey Jr. not as Iron Man,
but as the supervillain Doctor Doom.
What, are they running out of actors in Hollywood?
I'm calling Glenn Powell.
At San Diego Comic-Con back in 2024,
our DJ surprised the crowd when he took off the Doctor Doom
mask and revealed, yep, he was back in the MCU.
Then in 2025, Marvel put out an epic teaser video
showing, count them, 27 big-name actors
would be in Avengers Doomsday,
ending with Downey Jr. mugging for the camera.
A few months later in December,
a teaser trailer confirmed Chris Evans
was back as Steve Rogers,
although the character we just saw him playing in Doomsday
doesn't seem to be Captain America.
Hmm.
Another big comeback?
The 2000s-era X-Men cast, including Rebecca Romijn
with a questionable new Mystique wig,
and Cyclops, played by my fave, James Marsden.
In April, the 52-year-old actor
exclusively talked to The Post
about putting on those ruby-colored glasses again.
I was worried that I was gonna be able to do
any of the physical stuff, but yeah, it all worked out great.
I still fit the costume.
The costume looks great.
It's the Cyclops costume from the comics,
so people are excited about that,
and great to see my old friends again,
to reunite with Patrick and Ian and Rebecca and everybody,
and yeah, it was a lot of fun.
For a longest time, I didn't think it was gonna happen.
I just thought, okay, well, you know, that's kind of done,
and they don't want the 55 version of me, you know,
or 60-year-old, but, you know, there Ian McKellen was going,
you know, pushing his stunt double aside,
going, let me try, you know, so it's great,
and it's just gonna be a, it's gonna be a lot of fun
seeing all these worlds come together.
Personally, I can't wait.
Adding to the hype, Avengers Doomsday and Dune 3
will come out on this same day, December 18th,
so people are dubbing it Doomsday a la Barbenheimer,
and get this, Florence Pugh is going to be in both movies,
so yeah, Ms. Flo will be cashing those checks
just in time for Christmas.
