The Hawks are primed for something HUGE...
Jul 15, 2026
Hawks fans if you would have told me the way that we shot the ball from three last year
That we would have improved so much this offseason. I might have told you you were crazy
But the hawks are primed
To do something special something huge with this
The atlanta hawks have the potential to really be one of the best teams
In the nba when it comes to three-point shooting this coming season
Seriously
But welcome back to hawks digest. I am chris tiltmore got my hawks gear on take off your shoes leave on your socks
And we're going to get into this video. I'm going to break it down on why I believe the atlanta hawks are primed to be
One of the best three-point shooting teams in the nba primed for something huge
But before I get into that guys, please let me do what I do

All right, guys
Now like I said, man, I feel like the atlanta hawks can really be one of the best
Shooting teams from beyond the ark coming into this season again
The way that we shot the ball last year
35 percent 35.8
From three which was the middle of the pack. It wasn't necessarily the end of the line
But it was in the middle of the pack around 18
and
with context the milwaukee books shot nearly 39
38.7 percent from the three-point line and they led the nba so you're not too far off
But you're not close enough
That was before the atlanta hawks made all the additions this offseason that they made. Yes. You lost george's niang
Yes, you lost karis libero, you know, you did lose those guys. Yes, you lost terrence man as well
But you gained three guys
And if the atlanta hawks can stay healthy, I believe that not only will these three guys play dividends
But the atlanta hawks as a team as a whole can be one of the best teams
Let's get into this just a little bit more
diving into it
Starting with the unicorn christoph
you know, he is one of the biggest question marks just simply because
Health has been a question for him now christoph. Zingas. He gave an interview
Um, actually a banger interview, honestly, too. If you haven't checked that out, please go check it out, man
Just hear how christoph just really is presenting himself. He's articulate. He understands basketball
He's a champion. He's ready to come in here and help the atlanta hawks win
But christoph zingas man, he is like I said that unicorn he has the ability to make plays
Shoot from beyond the arc as a center. He can pick and pop you can shoot from anywhere on the floor and with distance
7-2 with a 7-6 wingspan
and of course
He's now an atlanta hawk and you want him to come in stay healthy 42 games
Yes, i've said it we've all said it, you know, it's over and over about his health
That's his biggest question mark
Because his ability, we know he has it again
I'm already saying being able to pick and pop being able to shoot from long distance
You want that at your center having that space and being able to be one of the best spacing teams out here
The latin hawks have the ability
19 and 5 19.5 points
with 41.2 percent
That's what you're bringing into here and my thing is if you look at his last three years in total
you'll take all you'll take any one of those years from christoph zingas because
Against when he first his first year with the celtics 20 points his last year with the wizards 23.2 points
Regardless shooting over 48 percent all three of those years
Shooting at least 37.5 percent from three
all three of those years
So you'll want that you take that
And as long as he can stay healthy because 57 games first year as a celtic 65 games last year as a wizard
You'll take that
You want him to stay healthy want him to be out there on the floor to give you his best that he can give you
provide
And that's again like christoph zingas being able to help space the floor
This is one reason why I feel that the atlanta hawks can be able to go to the promised land
Next guy I will talk about
No
nikhil alexander walker
a guy that came from utah
And when he was with utah
This is the nikhil alexander walker that I would kind of want a piece of he kind of wanted more of
when he was with utah
he shot
35 threes he made 35 three issues. Excuse me out of 87 attempts which was 40 percent
Then he got traded of course had to get acclimated
I'm, not even gonna worry about his percentage for the rest of that season even though it was 36
I'm, not worried about that
the
2324 season
alexander walker shot 39
33 35 attempts 131 makes
Now 24 25 season 38.1 percent 370 attempts. So the volume did go up
He made 10 more threes with 141
So that's again 38.1 percent
Regardless that right there all three of those years and even with the 36.1
Even if you want to throw that in that's still better than what the atlanta hawks was able to accumulate as a team
Last season shooting 35
From three nearly 36
So you have this guy coming in as well and he's going to play both ends of the floor
He's going to be he has that ability to play some point guard has the ability to be a secondary ball handler period
You're going to bring this guy in he's going to be able to shoot
He's going to be able to help playmate and be a pest on the defensive end as well
Go along with the guy like dyson day
So we have to get better defensively and I believe we've got better from the three right here. Wouldn't it kill alexander walker?
So that's just another guy that you're bringing in to replace certain guys. Yes, like like I said
Karestan bird, he's gone george's niang. He's gone
Terrence man, he's gone. The only specialist really from three
Really right then what was george's name karestan bird had his times terrence man was able to knock down some reason well, I believe
These two guys that we just brought in with christophs
And you know, nikki alexander walker can feel those shoes and then you're also adding the ultimate sniper
For the last three years, which has been this guy
Luke canard and some people it's crazy that some people are saying that luke canard had a down year
from three
Well, let me tell you something
If 43 is a down year from three
I'll take that down year for the rest of his career if he's in atlanta
Because come on now, that's crazy. Just check this out from the 2022 23 nba season
He played for the clippers and the grizzlies and of course he was traded
For the clippers he shot 44.7
For the grizzlies 54 so that's 49.4 combined
23 24 season with memphis 45
Last season 43.3
Which was like in like I said considered a down year and i'll take that but regardless
He's been able to maintain a high level of scoring
A pot of scoring from behind the arc of that accuracy within the last
Three seasons, that's that's that's crazy
consistently being above 43
He even had a league average
He even led with the league average. Like I said back when he was with the clippers in memphis
So this guy's a career 43.8
percent three-point shooter
And again, he is a now an atlanta hawk
So you having these three guys coming in man?
I don't see on paper as long as everyone is able to stay healthy
Do their job because I understand that we had a lot of guys shooting
34 35 percent from three a lot of our stars a lot of our main guys and I get that
But everyone can remain healthy. Everyone can buy in and play as a team. I believe these atlanta hawks again
the milwaukee bucks
Nearly 39 percent from three
The hawks were at 35
I believe the hawks can make a significant jump and at least be one of the top 10 teams
But i'm gonna go even higher they can be the best possibly the best team
As long as they're knocking down shots, they have to knock down more open shots something that they did not do well last season
They were more so better at contested shots than they were open shots
So many times you would see trade get the ball to someone
open
And they would not knock down the three
I believe things are going to change and the atlanta hawks are still prioritizing
Three-point shooting as we did steal somebody
From the orlando magic his name caleb houston
And we're bringing him in and from his career. He's a 39.1
percent three-point shooter on 2.9 attempts, but still
Had shot his career best last season on 2.8 attempts
That being 40 and we're taking him from houston. They they don't want them. That's fine
We'll try to use them because in houston's offense, excuse me, not houston. That's his last name in orlando's offense
He had you know, I said not a lot of
Roles, it means but at the same time
When he did get the ball, he knocked down the three
He didn't have a respectable role like that, but you have to respect him as a shooter
And honestly if he is able to come in and give us some shooting
Whether he's being the gary bird role or if luke canard is being the gary bird role regardless
we need shooting and
They did a little high
High reward low risk type of a sign and bringing in caleb houston as well
Into that
Signing as well. So if you haven't checked that video out, please make sure you do
And show off some love
But i'm expecting him to shoot anywhere from about 37 to 38 percent depending on how much volume he gets
So that's yet another piece that the atlanta hunts are bringing in
Trying to get better from three
so with all these
Different pieces bringing in
To break the other shoot and we're going to be shooting at a high volume anyway, because that's what queen wants to have that space
So we're going to be shooting at a high clip. Anyway as far as
I believe the atlanta hawks have the ability
Have the potential
And the firepower to be the best team in the nba when it comes to shooting
from three
Now atlanta hawks fans y'all, please. Let me know how y'all feel about that
And uh, you know, so get that with me, but before I get ready to get out of here
Quick little thing about the punk summer league, of course punks finish their summer league
Finish with an l but at the end of the day, let's come on now
We've had a lot of guys who did not play kobe buskin did not play lamont butler. Josh. Christopher
Nicola elay
uh, asan
Jacob, they all was our coach's decision
Kind of expected that because this is the last game we didn't have anything necessarily to play for anyway
So it's time to give other guys opportunities to show what they have their last audition
Possibly for maybe a college park skyhawk position or a position somewhere else in the league
So you did have a lot of guys out there today and we were just outmatched outpowered
By the boston selfies today 101 to 80 was the final score
Atlanta hawks really didn't have any kind of control in this game
They did have show some fight more so in the first half
But ultimately boston was just uh, which is better in this game all the way around a couple guys
I would do want to shout out nelly joseph being five for five perfect from the field
A one of two from the foul line, but gave us 11 points
I did have four turnovers, but gave me nine rebounds to assist two steals. So he had a pretty good game
I want to talk about adam flagler who I feel like overall even though he was about 14
Overall, I feel like he's going to earn his way into somebody's roster
Whether it be in the g league or something because he was decent now
He really was and I said along with uh, dwight murray jr. Someone else who may even find his role
but
Colby johnson, I believe he really
Helped his chances. I think he really
Had a good game 14 points, you know six of 11 54 percent
Two of two or four from three and I said 50 as well
Gave me some rebounds too. Gave me about six gave me three steals gave him two assists
I feel like that was probably colby's most complete game, but that's what happened
He played 26 minutes
So and I feel like he really um helped his case as far as trying to get on maybe again
Or somewhere else because I mean we did for the college park skyhawks we did lose harris
Uh, of course nicola. He's probably coming up. He must have been down there now
Loudon is not there anymore. I believe we lost another guy as well
So it may be a few spots that maybe one of these guys can sneak on the college park skyhawk
Be a reserved type of a player guys who can shoot the ball and and move around those guys
So like and that's goes for guys like he was steady steve today jack mcveigh
two or five forty percent from the field and forty percent from three
That's where he was making his bread and butter mostly and he gave you still eight points. He didn't give you anything else
side of turnovers and fouls, but again, he was still steady also gave me two free throws so
Um, that was pretty much what's going on overall, I feel like the hawks look great
Uh minus this game. Like I said, you you had some guys who did not play
and um in the beginning, honestly
First half you can make an argument that the hawks were playing the best basketball that they possibly could
Against that lineup and was able to kind of keep it competitive. But finally, uh, boston was able to step on the gas and move away
So I don't hold that against the atlanta hawks still great summer league seeing a lot of continuity with these young
With these young guys a lot of team ball a lot of help defense a lot of talking
So I was happy and pleased to see exactly, you know, some what these guys did
and ultimately
Moving forward. It's all about to see what we're going to do
Uh, we're going to be moving close to the training camp so guys just lock in with the atlanta hawks
It's going to be a fun season. I believe just keep on keeping on and again
Like I said, the atlanta hawks have the potential to be the one of the best three-point shooting teams
in the league
All we have to do is apply ourselves and until next time guys, please peace and blessings to you all
Enjoy your week and i'll
