MASSIVE Hawks Trade Update... Report Reveals NEW Details | Hawks News
Oct 23, 2026
The Hawks took flight, went toe-to-toe, but came one point short.
But I mean, what a show.
126 to 125, so close, so tight.
We fought to the end, but in the end, we just lost the fight.
Welcome to Hawks Digest, everyone.
I am Chris Tip Moore.
So glad to see everyone once again.
Please, by all means, take off your shoes, leave on your socks.
And we're going to get into a recap
of the Hawks versus the Spurs in this video.
And also, new details regarding Brandon Ingram
and his involvement in the Atlanta Hawks.
But first and foremost, of course, as always,
you know, definitely appreciate you guys,
you know, for subscribing to Hawks Digest.
Actually, the numbers are better than what's on the screen right now.
But again, if you're not a part of the Hawks Digest, please come
on over and make us one of your first listens when you want Hawks news.
we cover all hawks news even
the things you know it's irrelevant it's a crazy trade rumor
or you know something going on with the hawks player whatever it
is you can find it right here
at hawks digest and please and thank you so very much
so again we were so close we were we were man
and um deandre hunter you know i said i wanted to just
because he was in that image i want to say
I do like the fact that DeAndre Hunter
was on Wimby sometimes in that game.
I feel like he did well, you know what I'm saying,
even with the size difference and everything.
So I'll give him his flowers in that regard.
And also I have some more flowers I need
to give to other players as well.
We're going to get into all that.
But for the Atlanta Hawks in this game,
guys, I mean, let's just keep it real.
It was a size advantage for the Spurs, you know what I'm saying.
Of course, did them with Wimby.
De'Aaron Fox was making his debut.
Of course he made it tonight.
But he was making his debut for the Atlanta Hawks.
And in the first half, I give him his credit.
He was cooking.
You know, he was out there just playing kind of like street ball.
And, you know, he was instrumental in the Spurs, you know,
in taking the lead that they did, you know, into halftime.
And just, you know, in the beginning,
Dyson Daniels, he was trying his best.
But Fox is the type of player that he can get going
and he can get scoring.
You know, he's a great player.
Can't take anything from him.
And we're seeing him for the third time this season, of course,
because he was just acquired by the San Antonio Spurs, like I said,
making his debut tonight.
It would have been nice to spoil it.
It would have really been nice to spoil it tonight.
But we came up short, one point short.
You really wish, you know,
that we were able to get a few more rebounds.
Okay, here's a few things for the Atlanta Hawks tonight.
I'm not going to be a negative Nathan,
but I mean just calling out some things that are obvious
Even though we did win the points in the paint tonight
64 to 58. Let's just call a spade what it is
23 points. That's fast break
Unacceptable, especially when you only have 12 yourself.
That's one thing that hurt the Hawks tremendously
Also, you got to think about those bench points
The bench points was 34 from the Spurs
to 16 for Atlanta that can't happen
and the thing uh also the thing that that just you know
was just critical and i feel like crippled
the hawks more than anything are those freaking turnovers got
to almighty knows but we had some
turnovers tonight we did get better with at it
but you gotta think about where we had 15 turnovers i
believe in the first half that just cannot happen it just cannot happen
and again you know i said
i'm gonna get into it you know i said
when i do the individual players but overall we had 20 as a
team guys the atlanta hawks do not win games
when we have high turnover margins they don't anytime
that we have had like 20 or more and i could be wrong
but i highly doubt it we don't win games
when we have 20 turnovers
or more we don't do it we just don't do it we cannot do it we're not a
team that can have a high turnover number
and still be able to win the game all right that was
a major factor for the atlanta hawks for me tonight more
so than you know even rebounds
because I mean we still won that battle we still won that battle even
though we didn't get like
critical rebounds at crucial times toward the end
of the game you know uh some guys I feel like
tonight was left in the game
a little bit longer than maybe they should have been tonight I feel
like we had a chance to really come back
and win this game the hawks battled back they were down by
20 points at one point in time
and they battled back again being the resilient hawks that they
are but of course we already know there is no such thing
as moral victories in the nba we have to
execute we have to win games like this this is a game
that we battled back and it was manageable
we tied the game and everything it was manageable
to possibly win this game but we just didn't have
enough toward the end just didn't get enough toward
the end ah it was tough guys but in the
same time though i got to give some love to some players for sure man
and now starting out i'm
gonna start actually with ice trey young you know
trey young tonight had a good game tonight he was
47% from the field which was 10 for 21 now he was 3
of 11 from 3 he was 9 of 11 from the foul
line he did have 12 assists got you 32 points
but Trey those nine turnovers just cannot happen
though I talked about this a few weeks back well actually
not a few weeks back a few videos back
and I was saying that Trey Young cannot have
high turnover rates he cannot have high turnover
numbers again turnovers are going to come regardless
because he most of the time 90%
of the time is going to have the ball in his hand maybe 80
because i know Dyson Daniels is bringing
the ball up a little bit more and everything too
so but either way it go regardless he's going to
have a high usage rate regardless that's just going
to happen with Trey Young so turnovers are
going to happen i'm sorry excuse me it's going to happen
but they just can't be high numbers again
we see it's been times he had seven turnovers
he had nine tonight he's had a game with 10
turnovers a game with 11 turnovers again we
from our leader we just can't have that um i do know
that you know everything is not on one person
because trey can let the ball go and it can go
off of another person's hands you know saying
into the defender's hands going the other way
and it'll be counted towards trey you know see now i feel like
that shouldn't be like that but
it is what it is you know
and so at the end of the day trey he cannot have nine turnovers
because if we can cut those turnovers down, shoot,
I feel like if we can cut the turnovers down to possibly 15,
I believe the Hawks can win this game a little more easier, you know,
because they didn't win the game, of course.
But I'm just saying we could have possibly
had more points, more possessions,
more opportunities to possibly win this game
if you just cut down on the turnovers.
You know, overall, like I said, 29 from Trey.
You had three from DeAndre Hunter, two from Dyson, one from Onyeka,
and also one from Keaton Wallace.
You got three from Vit Krejci and one from Garrison Matthews.
And all this is just so overall, you just can't have that happen.
Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.
That's the story of this game for me more than anything else, you know.
So, again, can't have turnovers from Trey Young.
He did have a marvelous game.
He still was in the plus four for those who care about the plus minus.
and honestly all the players that i'm going
to name briefly they were in the plus side of things
tonight so that's a great thing as well
um next player i want to talk about of course is the great
ball thief dyson daniels
who has been stepping up his totals as far as like points another 50 50
game for dyson daniels as he was 57 percent
from the field 50 percent from three one of two um also
So like I said, 8 for 14, being 57.1% from the field.
Hit both of his free throws, thank you very much.
And also 7 assists for Dyson, 8 rebounds for Dyson.
I'm telling you, the fact that he's
a rebounding guard is such a great thing.
It's a cheat code, such a cheat code.
Because it's not a lot of guys that like to defend,
like to rebound, do all the dirty things.
And Dyson likes to do all the things
that you would see a dirty player do.
He's going to get the assists.
He's going to get the rebounds.
You know, he's still going to get steals.
He's still got two steals in this game.
19 points.
The man has been living comfortable at 19 points,
you know, off and on for the past 5 to 10 games.
You've seen it more often than not.
So Dyson Daniels, I appreciate him.
He just had 19 against the Pistons.
so Dyson Daniels is living around that 19 point mark
and exceeding so many expectations because
he came in not even averaging over in the in the double digits
and now he is he is coming in and
being an instrumental factor
for the Atlanta Hawks again 19 points for Dyson Daniels yet again
coming in and we were trying to figure out where points
are going to come from only guys that
really can put the ball in the basket that you know
for a fact has been Trey Young and DeAndre
Hunter but on this night
and on multiple nights now Dyson Daniels is putting the ball in the
basket for the Atlanta Hawks great showing
for Dyson moving on DeAndre Hunter another 50 50
night for him 8 for 15 for DeAndre Hunter 53.3 percent uh
also 6 for 11 hit six threes tonight
the most threes on the Hawks tonight
as we hit 16 DeAndre had six of them 54 also 22 points and he
was in the starting position tonight got you 10 rebounds
that is something big from DeAndre Hunter
i really wish it ended in a win
so i can hype it up just a little bit more because DeAndre Hunter
doesn't have a lot of games where he gets 10 assists he just had
a game where he gave you 20
points and nothing else in the stat line
so tonight in the starting unit 22 points 10 assists
i'm excuse me 10 rebounds
but five assists even got you two steals as well great game from de
andre hunter 38 minutes thank you very much we will take
that all day long and now i have to get
to my player of the game double o on Onyeka
Okonwu i have nothing bad to say about Onyeka
I'm not going to talk about his size,
I'm not going to talk about his height, anything.
Onyeka Okonwu was taking it to the Spurs frontcourt.
Regardless, finding his spots, picking his spots,
he hit three threes in this game.
Three of them, 60% from the field in that regard.
Then 13 for 16 from the field, 81.3%.
only missing three shots and two of them
were threes great showing by Onyeka Okonwu 12 rebounds
got you five assists 30 points career high
for Onyeka Okonwu at least we will finally want
somebody to put a career high on the opposing team instead
of it happening necessarily to us
but you know saying great showing by those guys again Onyeka
is my player of the game but Hawks
fall short 126 to 125 man um but still not only
a few games back from the sixth spot we still can
go on a run and still can end up as a six-seeded team
but is a possibility the hawks may need some
help in order to get that and if that's going to happen
then um it moves me to my next part of the
show and that would mean trading for mr brandon
ingram mr brandon ingram is still being linked to
the Atlanta Hawks and it's even more so now
because Mr. Ingram there is reports that Brandon Ingram
is being sought after by two teams the Toronto Raptors
and the Atlanta Hawks they're saying it's
a neck and neck race to pursue
and and achieve you know seeking the services of Brandon Ingram
now guys i you know i said
a two-team race i don't understand really why the
i don't understand really why guys why um Toronto
is even in this i mean they're 12 and 38
and i mean the Pelicans they're 16
and 34 at least the Hawks are battling for right now they're in
the ninth position but again we're only a couple
of games out from the sixth seed I believe we're
two or three games back from the sixth seed right now
so the Hawks are fighting for something they
still have something to fight
for but Brandon Ingram hasn't played basketball since December
7th dealing with the ankle injury only has played 18 games this year
but when Brandon Ingram is
right I can't lie he is a bucket
when Brandon Ingram can he can fill it up and again this is
what you're getting if you can have
a healthy Brandon Ingram somebody next to Trae Young who
can put the ball into the basket somebody
that can possibly help the the Hawks offense flow at a more
smoother pace and then possibly give you a little something
on the defensive end as well is he Dyson
Daniels no he's never been that kind of defender
but at the same time possibly maybe he can uh
add some length as far as like on the defensive end
and still but mostly fill it up on the other
end helping out the Atlanta Hawks
not sure exactly what it's going to cost to get Brandon Ingram
to Atlanta um we already know about
the speculations about Bogey we now have speculations
about Capela being added in those trades
in the trade for Brandon Ingram and i believe that
something is coming down the pipeline very soon guys
because Clint Capela was not with the team
before it was more so back spasms
but now uh coming into tonight's game it was him being not
with the team similar to how Bogey Bogdanovich has
been going through as he's been not with the team
and i believe that the Hawks let him know it
was the last time we've seen him in shoot around
and then next thing you know he came out uh later
on after the game had started in street clothes i
believe the Hawks had informed him
then that he will be on the trade block and we cannot play you
because we cannot afford you to get injured same thing
with Clint Capela i mean it was back
spasms before but maybe the Hawks had to get some kind
of deal in place to where they were saying
all right now you're just not with the team we'll see what happens down
the pipeline guys been so
many rumors i've covered so many rumors whether i agree with them
or not um whether they made
sense or not you know at the end of the day
um you just got to cover these things because you
know you never know which one is going to fall through
which one could possibly be true out of
all these rumors you got to swim through them
but guys i'm about to get up out of here thank you
guys for tuning in to Hawks Digest, Hawks fall short 126
to 125 to the Spurs. Could Brandon Ingram
be on the way to Atlanta as again it's been reported
as a two-team race between the Toronto
Raptors and our Atlanta Hawks. Well until next time guys, peace
and blessings to you all and to you all
i'll holler
